2 My family member had an abnormal mri of his prostate that came back apparently the same day it was ordered. Their next office visit was scheduled to be 3 weeks afterward, so while they were waiting around the results clearly showed there was a HIGH probability we were dealing with prostate cancer.
Do we hear from Dr. Yacoub? Nope. Do we have a plan in place for what to do next? Nope. We were just supposed to wait to discuss these results during the office visit and sit with this anxiety, frustration, and fear. If I had not called to advocate for my family member, we would have been just wasting time instead of planning to see someone who could help.
What Dr. Yacoub may tout on his CV, he lacks in character and professionalism. He was dismissive during the office visit and did not respond to our concerns of cancer given elevated PSA readings that his colleague Dr. Seard dismissed as Well. I would not recommend this physician to anyone who would like clear and concise communication or human decency. Thanks for letting my family member who already has a history of cancer sit with the fact that there was cancer detected on the mri you ordered and not following up with it until I reached out to advocate on their behalf.
Dr Yaacoub is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and explains things very well. He answers questions, explains options and concerns and treats the patient like a colleague. I highly recommend Dr Yaacoub
