We were able to see a bobcat today during our hike which made it worth the drive and hike up the mountain. Some parts make you feel like youre away from the city and other spots you hear the arena noise and see all the developments, but overall a nice sunset hike. I would call it moderate to do the whole loop, took 90 minutes

Challenging 4 Mile round trip MTB run on Switchback Trail. Bring your technical skills and good brakes.

1/2 hour to the top but the view is wholly worth it. All Encinitas and Carlsbad to the sea and San Marcos. Great view and workout.

Great views from the top on a clear day! MTB trails are challenging for most skill levels. Getting a little rough in spots but still a BLAST!

Nice leisurely switchback style hike right in Carlsbad. Great for aggressive downhill mountain biking too. Keep your eyes PEELING for Rattlesnakes, we walked right over one and didn’t realize it until after; only 2-3 feet long but there are definitely bigger ones on there! Altitude climb was about 500 feet, easy hike!

I love this trail. Excellent views, wonderful trails (there are so many). This is a very good place to mountain bike if you have a full suspension bike, as it is rather rocky. Lots of local wildlife (careful for those rattlers) and cacti so watch your step. All in all, a local gem.

Probably San Diego's best legal trails for technical mountain biking (aside from Noble Canyon, of course). Lots of great routes up and down this mountain, making it very customizable for whatever you are looking for. If you like to spin/warm up before you climb, I recommend starting at Eden Park and coming up through Copper Creek to Horned Lizard. If you just wanna get to the climb and get some laps in, park at the Junipero trailhead and head up sitio to water tank. All the trails are great going down. Horned Lizard is fast and short, but Switchbacks is the most bang for your buck.

Fun hike! We parked on the street at Dove Tail and Burbury Way. Excellent entry-level hike for little ones or smaller dogs. Hike was 1.9 miles with 555’ ascent. My son and I had a blast with plenty of scenery and a few hikers and bikers. Weather is excellent right now for a mid day. Get out and have some fun!

Lovely trail! Easy free parking. With lots of trail options beautiful views from the top. Unfortunately, plans are in motion to build condos apartments and homes over this beautiful land.
