I've been seeing Dr. Zhao and the hygienists at Rancho Penasquitos Dentistry for years. I followed Dr. Zhao from her previous practice as the care I've received from her has been unparalleled.

As a medical professional myself, I can't say enough good things about this practice and recommend Dr. Zhao and her team to anyone that will listen. I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with Caitlyn and Charlene (hygienists), the traveling periodontist and oral surgeon as well as the reception staff.

Excellent first visit with Dr Jiang and the whole team at Rancho Penasquitos Dentistry. He was very transparent about everything he was doing, explaining everything very well. I learned a lot about my teeth and what I specifically should do more of and be careful about. He's more conservative about dental procedures so doesn't try to push things that you don't necessarily need (which has been a problem with previous dentists).

And they have a dedicated person who will come out and explain the insurance coverage for any proposed work, including laying out how much each one will cost you out of pocket. Which is incredible! It's always been so obfuscated and confusing at previous places. They also aren't at all pushy about doing particular procedures. It felt totally chill and up to me.

Being able to make appointments online is also great, and they have a web portal where you can view appointments, past visit summaries, etc. Very handy and well organized. Recommend.

I have been going to Rancho Penasquitos Dentistry for 2 yrs. I would have given above 4 stars but my experience with Caitlyn at my last teeth cleaning was rough, painful & horrible
I went in Oct2023 for my teeth cleaning, was told Charlene moved & Caitlyn will do the cleaning. I could not cancell be ause I was already in the clinic. I felt Caitlyn hitting all sensitive areas & nerve endings. I asked for more numbness gel & Caitlyn refused, she said"to tell you the truth those numbness gel does not work. "
Cleaning continues, I asked stop & see Dr. Dawson because I could nottake it anymore. Dr. Dawson came & finished the cleaning. I was going to cancel my next appt in Jan & look for another dentist. Thanks to Chelsea - answer the phone- she told me Charlene is back. Kudos to Chelsea went above & beyond in looking for schedule with Charlene. I am happy Charlie will be doing my cleaning & I don't have to look for another dentist.
Kudos to Dr Dawson for being Amazing dentist. Kudos to Charlene most gentle hand in providing excellent patient care in teeth cleaning. I have root canal done in this clinic & did not feel any pain.
Dr. Dawson is amazing! She listens, care, intelligent, kind & provided excellent patient care to me. I highly recommend & refer this dental practice to my family, friends & colleague. No one paid me to write this review.
I appreciate Charlene gentle hands & patient care to ensure patient teeth are clean without the trauma of getting teeth clean or fear of going to dentist.

I would have given 10 stars except the horrible experience with Caitlyn last teeth cleaning.

I had Dr. Steven Jiang as my dentist and he was absolutely wonderful. Not only was he kind and patient, he was very gentle with my teeth and took his time. I highly recommend him. I had Stacy as my hygienist and she was absolutely lovely when it came to polishing my teeth. I highly recommend!

Dr. Zhao completely lacks professional ethics. I informed her that my son had not had a dental check-up for 2 years, and she exploited this information to scare my son, falsely claiming that his gums were severely receding and that he needed an expensive laser cleaning. Despite X-ray examinations not supporting any accusations of cavities, she insisted that there were cavities. The key issue is that the inexperienced young man involved was extremely frightened, causing significant anxiety and concern about not receiving timely treatment. However, everything proved to be nonexistent when I found another dentist for a second examination，all of these issues were proven to be nonexistent！I feel that the dental introductions posted in the clinic, emphasizing her compassion, are simply ironic!

The staff are all so nice! I’ve only had good experiences here. They make sure you’re comfortable the entire time and explain everything. Definitely recommend (:

Exceptional service and speed. The office has alot of people to handle the dental and clerical aspects of the procedure. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my appointments. They are very upfront and knowlegeble about insurance and payments. The environment is extremely clean and modernized and the staff is very friendly and competent. I would highly recommend their services.

I had my first dental appointment at this office with Dr. Jiang and he did my cleaning and check up. During my visit, Dr. Jiang was not only gentle and informative but also very professional. I appreciated his expertise and the way he explained everything to me. I would highly recommend Dr. Jiang for anyone looking for a new dentist!

Dr. Jiang was great & the rest of the staff were great at going above and beyond to schedule me services asap. They were also able to estimate surgery prices same day- while other places were unwilling to do so.

First visit. First impressions are very good. Dr Dawson is attentive, thorough and has a warm personality. The staff are great and very competent. Equipment is state of the art. I have no reservations about future visits.

I had an amazing experience with the entire team. Dr. J. Was fantastic (along with everyone else). They were all so kind, funny, gentle, and careful.

I was impressed from the first time I went here. Dr Dawson was awesome- kind, professional and followed up with my after my appointment. Got all of my work done same day and will continue to come!

Dr. Jiang is fantastic and I would recommend him to anyone! He explained what he was doing throughout my exam which helped ease my nerves, and I really appreciated that he was very gentle on my sensitive lower teeth… that made a HUGE difference for me. I will definitely be seeing him again in the future.

My mom and I recently started coming to this dentist location. We were recommended by our neighbors, as we wanted to move from our original dentist location in Chula Vista.
I was scheduled with Dr Zhao. Before even meeting the dentist, ALL of the staff in this office are so friendly and attentive. I was very happy when meeting Dr Zhao, she is so personable. Everything is explained, and is easy to understand.
During my visit I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Jiang.
My mom is now seeing Dr. Jiang. When she was first scheduled for an appointment with him, I told her she would be very happy, and she was. He too is so friendly and personable.
We are both beyond pleased with the staff and services at this location.
We would recommend them to anyone.

I rarely post reviews but this office has been amazing. I recently brought my mom who has Alzheimer’s in after a lapse in treatment. They did a deep cleaning and crown all on that day. All the staff are so kind, gentle, and understanding. They are so good with their older patients. We originally found this office a year ago when we were desperately searching for an oral surgeon to take care of a bone infection in my moms jaw. They were the only office in the area that was responsive and helpful with the insurance and getting us in quickly. I would highly recommend this office for great care and fair prices.

The dentist and assistants were great. They informed me of the process as they went along.
There was a miscommunication about insurance and out of pocket expenses but the operations manager was able to sort it out the same day.
