Raquel's Senior Dog Bed & Breakfast, San Diego CA

I have a 13 year old Great Dane that has arthritis in her back legs which makes it difficult for her to get up. It is very hard for me to get away because it is very hard to find someone that understands the situation and willing to help take care of her if I have to be gone. I found Raquel who I consider to be an angel for having the passion to take on senior dogs. She took care of Brooklyn for 2 nights in my home and was amazing. I will recommend her over and over, what an angel!

Raquel and Marcus are the absolute best! I have peace of mind while out of town knowing my cats are in their care. I’d recommend Raquel and Marcus to anyone looking for someone to take care of their pets like they’re their own!

I’m so grateful for this place! I have a 15 year old dog, who is very nervous and has never cared much for other dogs. Traditional doggy daycare just seemed like it would be torture for her. Here she gets to hang out with other dogs that her more her speed and nap on couches all day long. If you’re looking for a great, safe, slow paced place for your oldies to be well cared for, Raquel has you covered!

Raquel and Marcus are amazing! They sent detailed updates and photos everyday while my senior dog stayed for 2 weeks. They really pay attention to small details and ask a lot of questions to know how to best care for your dog. Their facility is cute, clean and in a nice neighborhood. Highly recommend!

I have been sending Shadow to Raquel and Marcus pretty consistently over the last 6 months and they always take amazing care of Shadow. Raquel sends updates on how Shadow is doing 2x per day and I love hearing about the funny things that Shadow did that day.

Raquel meets with all the dogs and owners prior to admitting the dogs to her daycare to ensure that the personalities jive with the calm atmosphere for senior dogs which is great because I know Shadow is in a safe environment with other friendly dogs.

Over the span of time I've been sending Shadow to Raquel's BNB, I notice that Shadow sees Raquel and Marcus as his people too:)

Raquel and Marcus deserve more thank 5 stars. I had a fantastic experience with Raquel's senior dog bnb. They were incredibly friendly, communicative, and genuinely cared for my senior dogs. Raquel's experience with senior pups was a comfort, and I felt completely at ease leaving my furry pals in her care. I have never boarded my pets before and they made sure my first time went smoothly.

They took care of my two chihuahuas over the weekend, including one with diabetes, ensuring they got their medications. I really appreciated the updates and pictures they sent throughout the day – it made me feel connected and assured that my pets were well looked after.

All in all, it was an outstanding service, and I wholeheartedly recommend it, especially for senior dogs!

Raquel and Marcus have been absolutely amazing with our two dogs! After one of our dogs had spinal surgery earlier this year we were really hesitant to leave him with a boarder after his recovery. That is until we found Raquel - she provided him with the extra care and isolation needed to ensure no re-injury, she was familiar with manually expressing him, gave him all his meds, and she gave us complete peace of mind with frequent detailed updates and photos everyday.

We have since used her numerous times (5+), including a 2 week period while we were out of town, which is the longest we have ever left our dogs. She easily handles their complex meals w/ supplements, immediately notifies you if she notices anything concerning with the dogs (upset tummies, loose stool, etc.), and happily spends time with them and keeps them company throughout the day.

Amazing business that truly cares for your dogs as their own.

Raquel’s is a wonderful place for senior dogs. What a great concept. Not only is Raquel and her entire staff caring and thoughtful, but it’s much more relaxing for my 13 year old dog. There are sofas, lounge chairs and dog beds in the room. Feels more like a sleepover in a home than a kennel. Thanks Raquel for doing this for aging dogs and their overprotective owners

Phenomenal! My girl is a 14 year old border collie that still thinks she's 2. Raquel & Marcus are gems! This facility is so homey too! It basically makes your dog think they're staying at the "cool" uncle and aunt's house. They update you throughout the stay, send pictures, and if anything out of the ordinary rises, they contact you ASAP. My dog was so relaxed when she was getting picked up like she just went on her own vacay. This will be our go-to place, Rawuel & Marcus are No. 1!

I recently had to board my dog here while I was on a work trip. She stayed for 7 weeks! Leaving her for so long was hard. I stressed so much before I found Raquel’s. While I was gone I did not worry at all about my girl because I got so many updates. There are so many pictures and txts about my dog. It really put me at ease. My dog was treated like their own pet. All the other dogs are either seniors or very calm. This was perfect for my girl who is almost 10 years old. A traditional boarding place would have really stressed her out at her age. I looked into many places before settling here. Raquel’s is one of the few who will take senior dogs or dogs with medical issues. Raquel also gives you daily updates. I was surprised by how many. Other places I talked to required you to call. If my dog had an upset tummy or anything else I was notified immediately. When I picked up my dog she was in perfect health and well groomed. She got all her meds and was fed her food per instructions. If I ever have to leave my dog again she will go here!

I am SO glad I stumbled upon Raquel’s Senior Dog BnB! After reading reviews on SEVERAL other pet sitting/hotel services, this one beat them all! I am very particular when it comes to my pets & from our first phone call I was sure I had chosen the right place. My pets were in their care for 4 1/2 days. There was constant communication, letting me know how my dogs were doing throughout the day, how meal time was, and potty breaks. My newly adopted pups had a WONDERFUL time with Raquel & Marcus. This experience helped my babies with socialization skills, building confidence, & learning to be ok around larger dogs. We have found our forever sitters

We were scrambling to find a boarder after our senior girl began having mobility issues and our regular place wouldn’t accommodate her. Lucky for us we found Raquels! She took such good care of girl and really made us feel she was in good hands. We got tons of pictures and updates throughout our trip and it really put our minds at ease. You can really feel the extra care and effort they put in to making your dog feel at home. Definitely recommend!

I'd give six stars if I could. Raquel's communication skills are impeccable, never once did I worry about my dog. The amount of care and love my dog Peach received is evident, and the price was the most reasonable in town. I don't think you can find better. I will definitely use Raquel again!

Raquel is amazing! My dog Moses always loves staying with her. We have booked with her multiple times and each time Moses immediately goes to greet her. He’s not scared or worried at all. Moses isn’t a senior dog, but he’s an old soul at heart so he prefers the calmer environment and gets along great with the other dogs. Raquel makes sure to send me twice a day detailed updates with photos included; it’s great always seeing what Moses is up to! And someone stays with the dogs every night so they are not alone. I highly recommend booking with Raquel!

Raquel and her husband were very attentive and quick to give me updates of my dog during his stay. They also noticed his quirks and behaviors and tried to accommodate to my dog’s daily routine/habits. I will definitely recommend them to anyone who has senior pets that need daycare/boarding.

My pup and I are so happy to have found Raquel. She is super organized and detail oriented and is meticulous in her care of your dog. My dog is happy, healthy and well taken care of when with Raquel. Raquel sends plenty of photo updates throughout the stay and gives details on how your pup is doing in relation to any specific care instructions you may have given her.

Raquel took good care of my senior dog Kismet. This is my second time booking with her. I know she was going to be safe at her hands, she was sending pictures, and keep me updated. She was patient and flexible with Kismet. She caring, and Kismet felt so loved. I would highly recommend her.
