R+D Kitchen reviews
16I’m back! Yes, last review I post was negative. I had went after a long wait because of Covid and had a bad experience. (you can read my last post about my experience) I decided to go back after my horrible time there and now everything is like it should be Before Covid. 18 years of good food and excellent service. Love the hostess too she’s been there just as long as I can remember. She is the greatest! Sweet lady. See you soon R&D kitchen?
My favorite place. This time I was SO SURPRISED by the two pieces of short ribs and a cup of coleslaw in my plate. For $38.00.
The actual ribs hardly had any meat on them. This is not a normal meal. An appetizer maybe — but not a meal served for dinner. Charge more but don’t do that.
It is really offending.
I make a point of trying a restaurant's meatloaf to see how they make it. This by far was the best meatloaf I've ever had! Service was also very good. Definitely worth visiting when in Santa Monica.
The food is very nice and comfortable. Their hamburger is one of the best hamburgers that you can find. The meat is very good and does not smell meaty. One of the features that I love about r&d is there carrot cake and the coffee is really excellent on top of that the ambience and the staff make you feel very comfortable and you enjoy your meal there. What they could improve is basically the french fries. The french fries is okay but it can be better especially when they're charging $7 for the french fries
Great service, very accomoding.
The burger was nice, a bit too much salad for me, maybe will ask to have less salad next time.
Great lunch and dinner gastropub-esque place. The menu is small but everything is prepared well with high-quality ingredients. For Montana Ave, it's not especially pricey and the wait staff is very pleasant and professional. Worth a visit.
Mid-tier, unimaginative, uninspired food at best. Overpriced for what is essentially fast-casual cuisine. Dripping with undeserved pretension. Can find this meal at any of 1,000 other restaurants in LA that take themselves a little less seriously. Best thing about the place is that it’s close to Aero Theater
Best carrot cake in LA, potentially the world, enough said. Also the chicken sandwich is legit! Well worth checking out!
Absolutely delicious and our server all I remember is her middle name was Joy she was so pleasant and great service. The meat loaf and chicken sandwich was delicious!
Without a shred of exaggeration, probably the best fried chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Very cool environment. Great place to eat at the bar.
Consistent food and quality service. If you are looking for great drinks and food on Montana, this is a solid choice. The staff is flexible and good with dietary preferences. Strong drinks. Eat at the bar or table service. Everything on the menu is solid. Enjoy!
Nice place. Good food and service. The beef ribs are delicious, the cheeseburger was okay! The place was crowded but we were seated right away (two people).
Phenomenal food & service. Attentive to the finest details and despite popular with no option to book, it's worth the wait.
Love their their chicken sandwich and fries. Nice place to hang with friends. Oh gosh, not to forget their carrot cake and choc cookie. Large portions for the amount of money you spend!
Love this place. I’ve been going here for years and the food and service never disappoints. They were great through the mask mandates and their service to the community of SM never wavered. Bonus? They’re dog friendly. Make sure you go Wednesdays or Thursdays for their Reuben-esque, and never skip the carrot cake.
