Regional Parks Botanic Garden reviews
19Beautiful spot most days, but this was a special occasion.my son's wedding. We took pictures in the garden and the performed a Ketubah service among the redwoods. Spectacular.
Such a treasure to have in our backyard. We love to come here for a short walk. We keep the kids entertained by trying to decide which plant has the funniest name.
I think this place is also called Tilden Regional Parks. It's a very good walk around as the designer has created various paths and many endangered plants to see. It does charge for special photo shoots. There are few areas with trees that leave in autumn. Spring and summer may be more busy with UC Berkeley students in the grass area. The garden is smaller if you compare it to the nearby UC Botanical Garden. However, both are unique in their own way. Go and see both.
What a treasure. So many ways to enjoy the expansive collection of botanical wonders, even if you are somewhat indifferent to them. The meandering and twisted paths scatter visitors across a serene, overgrown valley so that even though you may hear others it still feels like you’ve embarked on a journey of your own on your own. Every turn seems to present a range of surprises — oh! Running water (remember that?) or wow, so many manzanitas — that they whet the curiosity and build anticipation for that next bend. I had to keep reminding myself to look up, then down, then back up, over and over, because there’s so much to take in. And I don’t know how many bridges are here but they are of different styles and materials which is another source of curiosity and wonder: who’d insist on such variation and what might it mean collectively and at each individual bridge? The redwood grove, planted in 1946, is a marvel: these trees were planted within the lifetimes of some grandparents and l o o k h o w m a s s i v e... So much to explore and discover and ruminate.
Enjoy the vistas and the plants, along with different collections. Glad to have found this gem!
Beautiful garden of California native plants separated into different CA geographic zones. The redwoods and sequoia trees are particularly gorgeous.
Gem of a place for a pleasant enjoyment of nature. No entry fee, California native garden. Bench seating near the redwoods is beautifully rejuvenating.
I've visited many different gardens of many different styles, but this by far remains my favorite. When I moved to CA many years back, my friend introduced me to the garden as a botanical introduction to the state. I fell in love with it immediately. The garden is well kept and signage is generally quite good. I would recommend the map/ guide from their website for your visit. Though as they recommend, you'll want to download that before you get there as the cell service is spotty depending on your carrier. The ability to view so many unique native species in a single walkable area makes this a must see in my opinion.
What a gem of a garden. We're planning a native garden ourselves, so this place is a fantastic resource for ideas, as well as being simply a lovely place to spend a couple of hours wandering.
Unreal. So big, definitley bring your walking shoes. So much to see even if your not into plants. The redwood area is so magical and relaxing. Benches all around to sit and chill. So much informational stuff if you care to learn and read. All around just a really awesome place for anything your heart may desire. Gorgeous spot!
Excellent, well-kept botanical garden. Not big, not well-known. But is perfectly enjoyable.
A wonderful place where you can come and enjoy all the corners of California in one place.
This is an excellent garden. Just like California flora the best time to visit would be spring or Winter just after rains.
You’ll see bugs critters and blooming flora.
There are some very spectacular seating areas overlooking the gardens and make for some memorable photos.
Avoid the rush and visit during midday or just before noon and weekdays. You’ll likely have the park to yourself.
Beautiful peaceful. Easy walking paths. Park benches throughout. Parking and restroom across the street. Free entry and parking
Love this joint. I take my kid here to look at flowers and animals.on our last trip, I spotted a rabbit, salamanders and a turtle.pretty dope.
