Camping Store REI reviews
20So REI now has bouncer at the door who won't let you in unless you say up front what you want to buy. I was denied entry because I wanted to browse. Crazy.
Terrible customer service from multiple people. I felt like they didn’t want me to buy their products. I was dead set on buying something there but they made me change my mind.
I went in for a backpack fitting. Jonathan was extremely knowledgeable and very thorough. Very pleased with my experience!
What's not to like about REI, right? Now it feels like like you're going through a TSA onboarding check in or something. With respect to their caution and prudence being safe with the covid-19 situation, they grill you why you're there, what do you want, and tell you to go directly there and nowhere else. Then when you walk in, there's hardly anybody in the store, more like 60 feet of social distancing. And the workers are now rude and short with responses, customer service has apparently been quarantined.
Best REI in California. Don’t put the staff at risk! Come with a purpose, buy what you need, be kind to the staff, and then head outside to your adventure. You don’t need to wander the store, that’s what rei.com is for. Cheers!
Great selection, great service. A little pricey but they stand by their products. If you're a member you can shop their garage sale.
I I went to this REI to buy some sunglasses yesterday.
I deaf and so I was trying to find out which ones would be the best for me. There was a staff there who was so kind and was patient enough to text answers to my questions and any information about the sunglasses
I did not catch her name, but she has short black hair and was any amazing help.
REI is lucky to have her!
In my opinion this is the most friendly and easy to navigate REI in the Sacramento region. Parking is meh, but otherwise a great place to get gear for your summer adventures
The staff here are always knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful! The selection is amazing it is nice to see and try things before buying them.
Michael in backpacks/hiking supplies has helped me on several occasions. His knowledge and politeness has had me coming back. This guy is awesome and a great asset to REI as he takes the time to tell you his personal experience with certain items. REI you have a hidden gem working the floor.
Customer service is horrible at this location. I went in about 15 mins after opening. There were only 3 other customers in the entire store. I was desperately trying to find a replacement rain jacket but had some questions. I tried to get the attention of staff but gave up after 20 mins of wandering around. Given the prices of these jackets, you'd think the customer service would be equal. Avoid if you have any questions.
Great store to shop for outdoor gear. Today I purchased two hats to keep my head warm because it was cold today. Yes, it snowed today.
Don't shop there unless I have gift cards, if not I only buy a few things because its so expensive. Gotta save up, but it's worth it sometimes.
Too crowded, too slow a the cashier. Not having a couple hours to wait for checkout, I gave up.
Just joined their membership program to get discounts on gear and trips. Stores prices seem expensive but we'll see if everything else makes up for it.
I was asked if I needed help by two employees. One of them knew that a jacket I was interested in was on the clearance rack-I bought it and saved $50! A third employee helped me find something else.
Very down to earth people. Very real. Very knowledgeable. Items might be pricey but they do the number one thing well which is to make you feel good about your investment.
It's the place for outdoor gear. Very helpful staff. I've been an REI member since 1971 (and yes, I still get out).
I don't shop REI very much. However, I have never been disappointed with their products or service. Today I returned a helmet that I bought online without any trouble.
