Renz Social House reviews
10I go there only for karaoke nights that happen every day except for Monday. My go-to days are when KP is there. He's the best karaoke DJ, in my opinion. Sundays are good, too. Would not recommend Thursday unless you're willing to pay to move up in the wait line for singing.
We just went to check out the location. The atmosphere was great. They had 80's night.
I will definitely be going back!
Formerly the Pineapple Hill Grill - owned by Renee R Renz, probably the best looking candidate who ran for Governor a few years back; this little gem is hidden in a mall just across from the Tustin Library. If you see the Baskin Robins, you are almost there. While its a good bar much of the time, Wednesdays are particularly excellent due to Karaoke night. I got to see several young men and women sing and it was impressive - there's some real talent there and its not just the drinks talking!
I karaoke there at least 3 x weekly
Great staff. Friendly and they look out for everyone
Probably only Patron go there doesn't drink.
Good place to get blasted it would appear
Great place to sit and relax and watch the game and grab a cold one. Bartenders are pleasant and friendly. They are all very cool but Kayla is my fav. Customers are also very warm and inviting.
Beer was cold.customer mix totally cool. Servers "right on" (obviously I'm old school.
I had come here a handful of times pre-Covid when it was under a different name (and I think different ownership). It had the cheapest drinks and a very mixed crowd of all ages and backgrounds. I am pretty introverted and do not participate in the karaoke, but oh em gee, you would be amazed by the talent that shows up here.
This place still has a similar vibe, but the crowd seems to be mostly middle aged. The talent is still showing up, although, I don't recognize the faces or voices. Drinks are more but still reasonably priced. The part that kills me is they renovated it to look more modern and it kind of looks cheaply done. Someone mentioned they were on "Bar Rescue" a bar renovation reality show and to be honest, nothing should have been changed other than raising their prices if the business was in trouble.
New staff seems interesting. I took a seat at the bar and instead of being asked what I want to drink, the bartender told me that I was in someone else's seat. I'm sorry, that's not how bar stools work. If someone leaves and doesn't come back or doesn't leave a personal item, then that seat is now free. I thought her behavior was a little odd, but perhaps he was a personal friend. The other bartender was a little more friendly.
Recent bartender changes were the best thing that ever happened to this place, surprised it took so long really. Anyone who's been coming here for any period of time knows that the owner should hire a foxy middle-aged GM with experience, no offense to Linda. On occasion you'll get paid attention to, usually by the OG's like Bridgette or Kayla now that Deva's is on pause. Despite the former raw wood structure out front, this spot popped off a LOT MORE when we were able to smoke on the patio. (and bring our dogs right Max?) If it wasn't for the ambiance and the fact that I just heard Reva belt Santa Baby last month, I'd probably give it 3 stars.simply because the chef is vacant, the best KJ in Orange County, Rashad is no longer here. Oh and please order Teremana tequila, thanks guys.
Kj is terrible sound is bad multiple people showed up and kj kept skipped people who were already singing also kj admitted speakers are blown out this bar needs to maintain sound system if karaoke is a regular thing
