Revolution Winery & Kitchen reviews
20It’s seems that over the past 6 months to quality and consistency of the food has decreased. Today marks our third visit in about 2 months we were disappointed yet again by our brunch. The bagel was stale and crunchy and something from my sandwich gave me food poising.
I had a burger, fries, and a cab. The server was friendly and fun to banter with. Burger and fries were delicious! Fries were seasoned and not too soft, not too crunchy. I like the vibe. We sat outside, and it was just before it started to get into cold weather. They did have patio heaters. It was a nice lunch with a good friend. Revolution Winery & Kitchen shares a patio with Temple Coffee. It's right next to a semi-busy road, but it is separated by sidewalk and greenery along the inside trellis/patio covering. It was not too distracting. The inside was nice and clean. Staff were friendly. Parking is limited, but I got lucky. There's a parking garage right next to it and some parking along the street. I would recommend and, hopefully, you have a good experience, too.
Always a great place for dinner with friends. Great food and wine. Vegetarian options too!
For fine wine and a nice place to dine this place surpassed all expectations. They are all inclusive with a vegan menu and non vegan foods also. They have some beer in rotation for your picky friend who doesnt drink wine. I recommend getting a flight of wine so you can choose something more to your liking with your food. Ambiance, coziness and delicious would be my three words to describe this place. Super chill during the week but i hear its busy on the weekends.
They have a wonderful crew! We loved the food, the wine and the super comfortable vibe. Lots of delicious vegan options. We've been twice and we'll certainly be back next time we're in town.
I want to begin with this, the service by our server was phenomenal. He was great, attentive, kind, and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine. My friend and I were very appreciative of his service. I cannot recall his name, but thank you!
So, you might ask, why a 1 star review? Well, let me tell you. Here is the story: my friend invited me to dinner as she signed up for a membership. She wanted me to experience the restaurant and wine as she really loved her previous experience. So, of course I said yes.
We ordered pastas and red wine, enjoying our meal. As we were finishing our wine and pouring the remainder of the wine from our decanter to our glasses, I noticed a dead roach at the bottom of the decanter. We were not only horrified, but extremely disgusted. Immediately, we ran the decanter inside to inform the staff to prevent a scene as we did not want other customers to not notice the large roach at the bottom of the jar.
As i waited outside horrified and traumatized, the manager I believe immediately discussed the cleanliness of the establishment, their pest control protocol, and justified that the insect was a cricket and not a roach. As I sat there in disbelief that instead of leading with apology, we were greeted with a rationale. My friend and I were in utter shock. However, in her lengthy explanation, she began to contradict herself and inform us that the bug might have actually been a beetle. We were again horrified as her story began to venture everywhere.
To be transparent, they did comp our meal. But, I felt uneasy not just about the roach, but the lack of responsibility she did apologize after some time, but after their long winded rationale about the establishments pest control, we were horrified. Again, life happens, insects get into things, but instead of leading with a rationale, I would encourage kindness and an apology as the leading strategy: not a justification.
I cannot speak for my friend, but I’ll continue to go to Ro Sham Beaux instead.
As many times I've been in mid town Sacramento, I have seen Revolution. But haven't been inside.
The waitress was very nice and understood those who had food allergies. Which is a plus for me as I know many others who have food intolerances. The atmosphere was welcoming that I would come back.
The food was above and beyond delicious.
I was here for my sister wedding rehearsal dinner and had beet and goat cheese pastries dough. Fried cauliflower. New York strip steak and fingerling potatoes with tomatoes and squash.
Revolution is a Sacramento staple for my husband and I on date night!
The wine is excellent and the food is delicious. The decor is tasteful and the ambiance is great for a date!
I can’t wait to go back.
Patio - cozy & comfy. Best part of Revolution is their GF and gut friendly menu options. And tasty!
Good company, good food, good atmosphere, excellent server, food a little to slow to come out
The menu is unique and wonderful for groups looking for something for everyone. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, the Mediterranean Salad was delicious (add avocado-yummy!) And a delicious burger along with pasta. The menu changes seasonally and very fresh organic ingredients. The French Fries were awesome, not to mention a great wine selection with unique varietals!
One of our favorite places in the city, brunch and lunch and dinner. All great, especially for gluten free options.
I wish I lived closer to revolution. I think about it all the time. I was signed up for their wine club/subscription but have been taking a break but will be rejoining sometime next year! Their wines have old world wine essence to them. I ate their the one time and ordered the vegan charcuterie board which I imagine vegan cheese and vegan meat vegans would lose it over but I actually don’t care for either of those things but the carrot lox on the board was fantastic to me! Will be trying the vegan lox toast next time I venture here. They also off wine flights!
The food, staff, and the environment is all made with love. They are creative with their menu items, and are very inclusive with eating preferences. Most things can be made vegan, gluten free and more. The service is speedy and well timed. The staff are lovely and will help with any questions. They also have a very extensive wine list to choose from and all of them are delicious. And even if you aren't a wine person, there are beers that are also great too! Especially in the nice weather, they have a beautiful outside patio with lots of seating. And for a personal suggestion, get the Revolution signature burger. It takes a lot to make a burger that I enjoy. But this burger. It was everything that I love in burgers. The bun is crispy, the patty is juicy and cooked to perfection, and they have fresh, crispy, veggies. I would 100% recommend Revolution Winery and Kitchen to anyone and everyone.
I had Olivia's breakfast burrito with the chicken which was grilled and fresh very tasty. The Mediterranean salad was very aromatic and completely fresh and tasty. Service on point.
Took the family out for dinner. Laid back, friendly experience. We ate outside. I had the chicken, a couple of the kids had the impossible burger. All enjoyed our meals, service was attentive but not intrusive. The wine is good (I think they forgot to charge us for our second glasses!). All round a great place to eat al fresco in midtown.

This place is 4.5, but I round down.
The service is always primo, the ladies working here are really on point. They always make us feel great. Breaking it down, ambience and staff is 4.5 to 5. Food is 3.5 to 4. Wine is 4 to 4.5.
Ambience is wonderful, definitely perfect warm spring day vibes. I did unfortunately forget to take photos as I was really feeling the moment tonight.
Let's talk food:
- the brucetta 4.5
- the beets 4.8
- the mushroom au jus 4
- the risotto 4.5
All the dishes stood well on their own, great with the wines.
- Teroldego was the show stopper
- Had the Zin, Pinot, and Cab Sav but I would give then Zin 90 and no rating on the other two. The Teroldego was an easy 92+. Wonderful aromatics, complexity and taste.
Of course we will be back and I'll keep updating this with edits.
Edit: fixed typo
Edit: still a 4. Above average but not something worthy of a perfect score. I go here regularly though, service can vary, if you're going for wine, the Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Teroldego, and Tempernillo show the best. Probably their only wines I'd give 88+ on.
Yes yes and more yes.
I love their in house items!
The wines were delicious and housemade.
So many vegan options and delicious.
Thoroughly enjoyed the vegan cheese plate and risotto.
I will definitely be going back.
We were completely blown away. From the warm and friendly service to the make-you-weak-in-the-knees (yes, it was that good) food (vegan and gf) and flight of wine. We have found our GO-TO place for date night here in Sacramento!
