Rhino Steel Doors, San Ysidro CA

It pains me to have to write this review, but Rhino Steel Doors has left us with no choice. Let me start by saying the doors we received are heavy duty and mostly beautiful (with the exception of a few blemishes and chips on the paint finish). Unfortunately, the flanges on the doors were not built according to the contracted specs, nor was there a top-latch for the stationary door (on the set of double doors) as listed in the contract. This impacted both the weather-tightness and the security of the doors (which are on the front of our house). We battled with the company for weeks to take the doors back to the factory and make them right. To their credit, Rhino finally did take them back to correct the flanges and repaint them, and they also agreed to reimburse us for having to pay our contractor to install the doors the SECOND TIME. Rhino had also added a keypad lock on our single door that we neither asked for nor wanted, and they agreed to change that to a sturdier key deadbolt when their technician, Julio (who is awesome, by the way), came to complete touch up work that was needed following the second installation; i.e, cutting a hole in the door frame to engage the newly installed top latch, as well as adding weather stripping, adjusting "play" in the double doors, etc. The doors were originally delivered to us in mid-March, OVER A MONTH behind schedule, and were installed the FIRST time in early April. The SECOND installation of the corrected doors was on June 6th. We expected Rhino to send Julio out shortly thereafter to complete the detail work and make these exterior doors air and water tight.

As of today, November 14th, the necessary work has not been completed, we have not received reimbursement for our second door installation, and Rhino has stopped responding to all of our emails and phone calls. The last communication we had from them was on July 21st, when we were promised that the detail work would be completed during the first week in August, and that our reimbursement request would be forwarded to the "main office" for payment. We have been extremely patient, kind and understanding throughout this process. Over the summer a few key Rhino employees experienced health issues, and we always expressed concern for their well being and understanding about the delays. It has now been nearly 4 months since we've received any communication from Rhino, despite our efforts to reach out to every email address and phone number we can find associated with the company. What is puzzling to us is that Rhino's scheduler, Luis, was always responsive, kind, understanding and helpful.until he stopped responding in July. We have now been left with unfinished doors (which caused rain to come through onto our brand new wood floors during "Hurricane" Hilary), and being owed over $2,000 for our second door installation. We just want the final details on our doors finished and to be made whole financially as promised! Is that really too much to ask?

If Rhino ever sees fit to contact us and make things right, I'll be happy to update this review. As I said in the beginning, the doors are sturdy and beautiful with a few minor exceptions. We would love to be able to recommend Rhino to others, but under the circumstances, we absolutely cannot and will not. Buyer Beware!

Company was hard to reach as email listed on website was not active and bounced back. Lead times are longer than website advised.

Worked through a quote over a few weeks and then when it came time to purchase the price jump 7k due to a mistake on their part. I was placing an order for a shower unit. Sales person missed that until was L shaped even with full measurements, floor place and after I double checked with he to make sure.
