I am a patient here. I've been here 5 months. It's very different from being in a hospital. Their are 3 shifts here for nursing staff. The ones who I see the most are called CNA. CNA will help you in the daily tasks that you need to do. For me, I can't walk, so I need diaper changing. I'm trying to walk again. CNA brings your food trays, ice water jug with a cup, changes your bedding, helps give you a bath, and many other things. During their shift, they have between 9 to 15 people to take care of. Sometimes, someone calls in and doesn't show up for work. These are hard-working people who work at RPA. I don't think the patients always remember that. Some of the patients have memory lost, and this place takes those people and cares for them. We are lucky to have places like this. Yes, it's not perfect here. I hope that the staff keeps trying to keep helping those who need help and will always care for those who need care. I know that I am a difficult patient, and they keep trying to help me with my special needs and I sure do appreciate those who have gone the extra mile in trying to help me.

Staff seemed to be very friendly. The facility was busy and the building very old. It wasn’t very clean for a medical facility. The patients do not have a phone near them and after pushing the call button they soon begin calling for help verbally in hopes of being attended. The food is drab and everything finely blended like course grey colored hot mush. No choices, or options other than that. It smells of human waste permeating in warm stuffy air. Patients can go outside as they have two smoking areas. That access door pushes out easily for a wheelchair. However there is one broken plastic chair and concrete bench for one barely two people to sit, perhaps a family member or staff member who pushes them out. Maybe that’s why I had to assist one patient who no one came back for and unable to pull the heavy metal door open and while holding it open, wheel themselves back inside. I’d like to blame lack of seating, however I assisted more than one individual by pushing them back inside, to their room or just unstuck against the wall or piece of equipment in the hall. Everyone just goes about their business as one elderly, frail man couldn’t turn his chair around so for along period of time struggled with the one movable leg he had to turn away from the wall. I had just arrived and because he was directly in front of a nurses station I assumed she would help, or there must be a reason. Instead he just polished a spot on that filthy floor by brushing his foot back and forth. Sometimes I think out loud and well another staff member basically bumped him a bit when they passed, but basically he still had to do a bit of work and literally had a deep breath of triumph as he was free! I felt bad I didn’t just do it myself. After that is when I took the liberty to help anyone and met no resistance from staff. Basically it’s a place to be when you are suffering from dementia, severely disabled, near to end of life, be forgotten. I cried when I left. Shame on you Steve Sclafani for putting your mother in that place!

How is this place still in business. Smells and patients screaming my heart goes out to anyone that has been placed here. Sham on the family's that are leaving their love one here. So sad

This place doesn’t even deserve a one star. My mother needed physical therapy and this place was the only one available that had a room for her upon discharge from the hospital. As soon as I got there, I got her out. I do not know how a place like this is legally able to operate. The staff (reception) really doesn’t seem to care, hardly any nurses at night, patients roaming around the halls some seem mentally Ill, seeing the elderly there broke my heart because they weren’t receiving care that they needed. I’ve heard of places like this but it hits harder when you see it in person. My mother wasn’t there an hr. I got her out of there and did the leg work myself to get her the care she needed. It’s sad that dilapidated torture facilities like this exist. The five star comments are from staff believe me. What I saw: run down furniture, beds with no page capabilities/broken, not many nurses, elderly patients left in bed in hallway, patients yelling and cursing at each other, I seen dogs eat better than what they gave my mother, hand written instructions everywhere like they don’t own a computer or never heard of Microsoft office, broken beds and very old rusted furniture in the rooms. I love my mother too much to have left her there one minute longer.

If your family member doesn't have a cell phone, it's almost impossible to talk to them on the phone.when you walk into the lobby you are instantly hit with the urine smell.when i went to visit my mom on her birthday she didn't look very comfortable in her wheelchair.she was sitting in a weird position that made her look like she was going to fall out and she was very tired.i took her back to her room and had to hold her head up.this place is always having a covid outbreak and will call to let you know either if your family was around that person or not.but they didn't call me to let me know my mom was taken to the ER and almost pronounced dead.my mom was put on a ventilator and full life support and was barely responsive. I still never received a call or was told what happened.it was supposed to be temporary therapy care, but she has been there almost a year now. I've talked to a few other patients, and they don't like it there, but some patients have been there for years and is their permanent home.
