I bring my sons there for hair cut cause I used to cut their hair but now I discovered this place they do an excellent job, this is where I'm taking them to get a hair cut, hopefully when they grow up they can go by themselves lol. Thank you so much guys keep doing a great job.

If you need your hair braided, dyed, cut, faded, anything at all done to your hair, these students are gonna get it done! I've never seen an unhappy customer!

This school turned my daughter's life around! Jerry is amazing he's down to earth, an excellent teacher, role model, mentor, and one of those rare humans you meet who want to see you succeed and will do everything in his power to help and teach you. No wonder he is so successful! They offer any service at the school too and real reasonable prices.

I understand that they’re students.but wow. I could tell this guy had no clue what he was doing because he kept looking around at everyone else and seemed frustrated. When he asked me why my son didn’t want it lined up I straight up told him “this isn’t even the haircut he wanted. ” He then tried blaming the picture he was shown and his supervisor. And THEN proceeded to line up his hair anyway, crooked, so that it looked even worse. Basically I have a bald, Three Stooges looking child who sat in a chair for OVER AN HOUR. He is currently crying his eyes out saying “I hate my hair” over and over again. And the razor burns on the back of his head are painful to look at, much less experience.
BTW.the only person I saw walk over to him said “Hey, ever hear the saying, if I can’t make you look good, I’ll make you look ugly? ” And then laughed and walked away. So if that was the supervisor, he should be fired.

Full disclosure I enrolled here.
There's a 1 star review if the reviews are sorted by date that will show up after mine. I witnessed 90% of the reviewers interaction with my school, administration, instructors, and fellow students.

It's my first and I got in ten minutes late due to traffic. There's a lady giving exacting directions to personnel knowing she's at a barberschool and all services are $5. She and her children were treated with nothing but respect and courtesy. I was finally able to get situated and start my day.

I was warmly welcomed on board and taken to the classroom. Next day the review hit. The owner (Jerry) is on vacation but worked the precieved issue remotely. It was resolved in under 4 hours.

I'm writing this in hopes the reviewer will take theirs down. Your issue was resolved, at no point have you been treated ill, and you've been welcomed to return with sincere apologies.

Professionally I've had to deal with many organizations/departments that weren't half as good as Riggins Urban Barber College. At this stage in my career you'd be hard pressed to hide things from me and I walked in looking.

Please consider either taking that review down or raising it after coming back for a fresh service. Reputation matters and I feel a 1 star is far to harsh a lasting ding on it.

@ Michele, so which of the 3 stooges are you? Oh I’m sorry which one are you AND your sons father. & If you had a problem w a STUDENT cutting your sons hair and wanted it done PERFECTLY. Maybe you should drop the $40 @ a regular barbershop that specializes in 3 stooges opposed to going to a barber school for a $5 haircut when you know they could potentially make a mistake & coming on here to slam them & just make it sound like someone is lazy or don’t want to cut your son hair. You went to school before & I’m sure you didn’t like getting bullied when you did something wrong. Also, make sure your son has the same haircut idea in mind as you. And I see you have a lot of negative 1 star reviews that you’ve made, no one likes a negative Nancy & if your getting all these ”bad” experiences then uhhh, maybe you should check your behavior in response to that karma you clearly ain’t getting enough of.

Brought my boys here to get haircuts. They did an amazing job on the style of cut itself HOWEVER keep in mind the barbers are students and learning. They scratched up my sons neck and the aftershave burned of course…my kids are biracial so I honestly didn’t think aftershave was needed, lesson learned. Overall the haircuts look great though! Just taking points off for the scratches on his neck. We’ll be back though hopefully they won’t be as rough with them. The haircuts looks so good though I wish I could post a pic on here of them but I don’t know how

I went here around 2019 and although I opted for the cheap $5 student/trainee cut which btw took forever … almost an hour… someone more diligent finally came by and did the job faster and even asked if I’m ok going home since it took almost closing time for my hair to be finished… sadly I never went back there but I do appreciate the concern at the end…

It's is very much a blessing to be able to go into a Barbershop like Riggins and get a nice hair cut for $5.00. The gentleman named Jose helped me and his partner in school helped with a fade 1.5 to a #4 leaving hair on top 2 to 2.5 inches, perfect. Jose took his time and combed my hair a lot, i like. When he finished I asked him to wash my hair also and he did. And I rewarded him with $5.00. I wanted to get change and reward him again but he did not want me to. Definitely this barbershop is tops and a nice location ok.
