Riley's Farm reviews
18Riley's Farm is such an amazing experience and we can't wait to go back on an actual field trip. Our first few times we just walked around and ate in a restaurant – which was delicious! This is such a gem in Southern California.
Awesome place.everyone was very nice and the farm is great. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend taking your family and friends.
The stars are for the staff great people the rest is 0 stars there is nothing to pick and things are so unorganized
Been to Riley's Farms many times and have gone to other places there in the area great place to go great place for apple pie and a lot of lot of activities can hardly wait to go back to visit
Idiotic employees. Disrespectful glares from employees. Apparently a homophobic place. I felt uncomfortable there. Never want to go back ever. Being nonbinary I felt unsafe. And disorganized people. Can't get events in line or straight. I feel safer sleeping with coyote demons than I do there.
Such a beautiful atmosphere. I hope to take my kids in October. Plus, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Riley himself.
Most amazing night. Colonial summer masquerade. And every dinner theatre, and each Faire. Meteor shower event last night was so wonderful. A chance to relax under the stars and watch in wonder at God's light show. Love this place and the peopleso much!
Too many farms to go to in the area, so don't settle for this one. Website is updated, closed during peak apple-picking season without notice, and the staff is not helpful and almost unpleasant. I would definitely check out one of the many other orchards or farms nearby.
Closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday but you can take advantage and be creative with your photos! I had the best photoshoot ever!
Loved this farm! And we got to pick some strawberries that were so good! Definitely an experience you’ll never forget
On my husband's day off on a Thursday we decided to head up to Oak Glen (maybe it was cooler? No, it wasn't) for a drive. Riley's Farm's Yelp mentioned they had a restaurant, and we thought, "Hey, why not? "
Riley's Farm's restaurant closed over Covid and just never reopened. They do open it for a few special events each year. I was sad!
However, they do have a bakery, and you can go there and order a fresh made Chicken Pot Pie! I think there was a Beef and Potato Pie as well, but we homed in on the chicken pot pies. They also have Apple Pie, Apple Dumplings, and other treats! YUM! You order and pay at the bakery and then go inside to eat. We ordered 2 Chicken Pot Pies and my husband ordered an Appke Pie Milkshake.
Now, personally, I avoid pie, as I don't like mushy, half-baked crust. These crusts were done to perfection! Cook and edible all the way through. We really enjoyed them and ate every bite! (I think, but I'm not sure, you can get some to bake at home. Or maybe they're already baked, and you reheat at home). We probably won't head back while the temperatures are so high, but we will definitely go again. Oh, yes. The Apple Pie Shake was delicious!
(The 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was very disappointed they didn't have a restaurant.)
I've been twice now with my kids' field trips. We have been to the same section because they are younger. They dipped candles, watched (participated) in a little play, cleaned the old-fashioned way, went on a hay ride, fed goats, and played some old-fashioned games with wooden toys. All the kids had so much fun on both trips.
Last time we went was closer to Halloween and they have a spooky hay ride at night. I think it would be fun for the scary haunted house, horror movie type seekers
It's's a great place to spend the day! And an awesome educational experience for a field trip. If you're planning on going on a field trip, make sure to order a pie, or chicken pot pot, beef potatoe pie the night before. They only take pre-orders for a lot of stuff and you don't want to miss out! Their dinner and dessert pies are delicious, plus then you don't have to cook after an adventure.
Nice historical farm. There was a Civi War reenactment going on while we visited and we would have eaten there, but there were no tables set up yet. Nice setting in a very scenic area near Oak Glen.
The staff was so kind and helpful and the property was exactly as you would envision it in its beautiful sprawling rustic charm. Top notch!
Riley’s Farm is a fun place to go with the family. The activities change seasonally so there are reasons to return and experience the seasons. The cast and re-enactments are very fun and educational and the surroundings are beautiful but the food quality and service (food service) are pretty poor. We were there on a school trip and had to wait an abnormal amount of time for a mediocre meal.
Strawberry picking with the family, the kids loved the activities like bow and arrow shooting, candle making, tin solder making. Lots of fun.
I have been coming to Riley's Farms for about 15 years. I absolutely love the food, environment, re-enactments and dinner shows. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I was recently engaged and was excited to have my wedding at Riley's Farms just to find out they do not do them anymore. Which was fine. Then I tried to do a banquet instead to celebrate our marriage with friends and family just to be told we are not allowed to bring a cake or wear any wedding attire whatsoever and no explanation was given. It is a real bummer and really took away that family feel at Rileys Farms for me. Oh, well.
We had a great visit, we learned so much. We took home a double crust apple pie and it was delicious. I'm not a big pie fan but this one changed my mind about them! The men that led us around did a wonderful job acting the part. I appreciated seeing men being strong and assertive. So refreshing!
After we left I searched their website and was sad to see some of the issues they are going through against those who despise our nation and the freedom it offers. For those who love and respect our nation, it's history and Truth, Riley's farm will be a great place to visit.
