A hidden gem.great venue that, with a little work, should be open for more performances.

Close to 1000 seats, multiple curtains, is a beautiful working theater.

The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1991 as listing #91000917.

Built in 1939 during the Great Depression, the building was designed by architect Robert Stanton and funded by the Works Projects Administration.

Stanton, an eclectic architect who was influenced by Bernard Maybeck and Frank Lloyd Wright, also designed the 1937 Monterey County Courthouse in Salinas. Both buildings display the Works Projects Administration Moderne style, a Roman-Renaissance mode cleaned up with added elements of both zig-zag and Streamline Moderne.

The building remains unaltered and in excellent condition.
