Rodeway Inn, Ventura CA

This place is so horrible our family didn't stay at all. Dirty, broken, stinking, burn holes, broken furniture and it only cost us $600.00. Our family member came to see their grandchildren after the death of her daughter and she was sadly disappointed and taken advantage of. Whoever writes the reviews should save the canned response, fake apology. You are a rip off. DON'T STAY HERE FOR ANY REASON.

Worst motel stay. The stove was on blocks that didn’t stay balanced. The rooms smelled horrible. My coworkers and I all felt very sick. There was food or some other substance all over the the artwork and blinds. I had holes in my bathroom door. Coworkers had walls painted in several colors. Waking up in the middle of the night to people screaming yelling and fighting. Filters on AC units were filthy. When turned on they smelled like someone had soaked the filter in cologne. Seals around door were all pulled out and allowed for noise and cigarette smoke to come through. I would not recommend this motel to anyone.

However management was very good and helpful.

Not very clean. Not very accommodating. Other tenants / renters seemed shady. Management is indifferent to any of these things

Very bad experience till today. I couldn't step into the premises. Dirty and unkept. Starf are fraudulently. They hacked into my device through my hotel.com account and withdraw funds from my registered card, despite acknowledging that the property was not in good condition to be sold to anyone. Dirty beddings and bad offensive smell. It didn't meet covid regulations.
I left immediately to book another hotel and was told to cancel it via hotel.com which was done.
Yet they went ahead and charge me $223 just for one night at the Town and country inn Santababra California. A very dirty premises. My refund is still s struggle till today. They have bluntly refused to engage.

This is the ugliest hotel i have ever been to. It’s dirty and the outside was homeless people. The only good thing is there was a tv and bed

If I could leave a zero I would. Don't EVER stay here. The pictures that are provide by the business are a GROSS misrepresentation of the property and the room - at least the one I was in. I was supposed to get a non-smoking room, but was immediately met with a wave of overwhelming cigarette smell when entering the room. The room itself was gross - one wall painted a disgusting defecation brown. The curtains were disgusting and reeked of cigarettes. I don't know how to describe the rest of the room.two disgustingly dirty chairs, no dresser, a small refrigerator sitting on the floor.oh.just to give you an indication of the state of the room - the room number outside was sloppily and illegibly written on notebook paper and covered secured with multiple lengths of scotch tape. No floorboards, no crown molding, thing to try to make the room look nice. I went back to complain not 10 minutes after I arrived, the office was closed and locked and the attendant did not respond to the "after hours" buzzer.the rest of the property is run down and dirty as well.and there were some shady looking people on cell phones lingering in the shadows of the parking lot. Just stay away.

Room was disguisting, holes in the wall, smelled like cigarettes. Staff was very rude and didn't want to upgrade us for free. Unacceptable, the room looks like it's for the homeless.

Please don’t do it. It’s a horrible hotel.
The non smoking room stinks of smoke. Stains on the bed, holes on the wall.
When I asked the manager (?) to change my rooms he asked me to PAY MORE to move me. That is the worst costumer service!

Also, I was reading the high ranking reviews and they are probably bought. They mention pool, restaurant and bar, this hotel barely has a working sink.

Cheapest! In Ventura but could be better! At price! I stayed for 140$ two queen beds one night! Was ok but used to be cheaper! The manager is nice! Not nosy or Rude! Made my stay comfortable

The worst motel I have ever stayed at. Sketchy people walking around banging on doors all throughout the night. The bathroom wall had a hole in it. Door card lock was broken and held on with scotch tape! Cigarette burns through blankets.that there was a 2 queen bed room for over $200. The manager was absolutely worthless. Choose somewhere else.

Ants in the bathroom, bugs on the ceiling. Horrible smell that comes out of the sink drain. Floors are filthy. Walls and doors are filthy. The pictures look so much better than they really are. Stains on the furniture. Place seems very sketchy. We paid 350 for 2 nights because we had to go thru a booking agency. At most it shouldn't have been over 100. I will never stay here again.

Worst room I’ve EVER stayed in. First off I’ll talk about the needle from a syringe that I found stuck into the wall next to my bed. The room was not even remotely clean when I looked around, and the new room I was given was just as bad. Hair in the shower, sink clogged with what looked like seaweed. The entire room smelled like a cigarette. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE. You’re much better off paying extra money to stay somewhere else. This place should be shut down, there is no way it is up to any sort of legal standard. Shame on Choice Hotels for allowing such a horrible, disgusting place to continue being ran this way. The pictures used were taken when I can imagine it was first built or at the very least renovated, totally misleading. Will NEVER be staying at a choice hotels location ever again.

The room stinks, there was hair everywhere, hot water not working, ac unit extremely dirty, management refunded but kind of rude instead of apologizing.

The Worst Place To Bring Your Small Kids To Stay. Not Only Is It Bad Vibes Outside But Comfort Level In The Beds In The Room The Smell Of Raunchy Cheap Place. Middle Of Night Just To Sleep While We Been Driving All Day Just To Find Out To Try To Stay There But Not Comfortable At All Asked For My Refund Back An The Owner/Manager Told Me No Refund You Pay An That's It He Was Really Mad. Pictures You See Are Not The Same As What They Show You

Drew Derricks review was pretty spot on. The rooms aren't great and the outside is pretty terrible. Looks like the place has been let go and the photos advertising the place are pretty misleading in my opinion.

The management is pretty cool though.

I checked in late and the next morning I told him about my toilet that didn't flush. He asked if I wanted another room or for my money back on unused nights. I paid for the one night and got a refund for the rest.

I gave an 2 starts because the manager was nice and didn't fight over the bill.

Disgusting. Very old. Looks like a converted short term apartment. TV didn't work in one of the rooms. Refrigerator nor did the sink work in the converted kitchen. No ADA toilet or handicapped bars. Just Disgusting.

Rooms were dirty, smelly woke up with cops looking for someone there. Restroom door won't even close right. Definitely not a family place.

Ok.so… I should have done my research before getting a room here, my fault. Yet here’s the story… needed a room as I was passing through town and when I pulled into the Rodeway it looked ROUGH, but I figured the rooms inside couldn’t be that bad, WRONG! SO BAD. So bad that I was in the room for 5 minutes and had a anxiety attack. YET! Since I didn’t really touch anything or use the restroom or anything I went to the front desk and kindly asked for a refund, the manager gave me my money back. SUPER COOL OF HIM!

So if you’re gonna get a room here, go look at the room before you commit to buying it. The management was super nice about it and was willing and did show me other rooms but they weren’t up to my standard so I left with my money.

All right it isn't a dive but is a top-of-the-line the rooms are clean an adequately size conveniently located local restaurants and markets nearby is near the beach are the most part patrons AR friendly mostly locals there is something left to be desired with the management staff I never smile and I'm very rude I found their service to me sufficient to the job at the very least let's just say there was no special effort made to make guests feel comfortable and welcome
