Not a bad place, but when I was there - late August '23, there was a major issue with the WIFI - something unique to here made my computer think there was a virus attack and prevented me from going to sites like Expedia or SouthwestAir due to hijacked websites or inability to verify and I saw pop ups asking me to allow notifications (did NOT allow) - the motel could not fix the issue. My laptop was fine at the nearby library and about a dozen other locations recently.so its unique to this motel (Chrome browser).
Great for a cheaper motel otherwise - but can't see coming back until its fixed.

I'd only give it a fee stars for the rooms however the service at the front desk was great. The room was clean and as one would expect. What I absolutely hated 1. No coffee on the hotel room or upfront. Are we out of coffee in Cali? This is the first hotel ever with no coffee on premise, it is a big deal as I had to spend extra time and money looking for coffee. 2. The mattresses were on old springs, although It was comfortable enough, but every time somebody moved, someone else woke up because of the sound the springs made while contracting and expanding. 3. The 2nd day in the toilet got clogged in for no reason at all. Even though the service guy came out and released the toilet, it didn't make the whole thing a very pleasant experience. In fact, just as we were moving in, I overheard of conversations somebody else was having a toilet issue in the other building, and I kinda wondered what's happening with their plumbing. For those three reasons I would personally not be coming back to this location as there are other better options. The ocean is a little over a mile a way and that part was enjoyable as we spent time walking the neighborhood and soaking on the California vibes.

Be careful, this hotel has old facilities. The bed is old, you can feel the spring of the bed. No coffee maker in the room. Not even in the reception. Pillows are small. But we like the location because it is near to seaside walikng.

This is a very cheap hotel. It is dirty and stinks. It is extremely overpriced for what it is. Staff is not friendly or helpful.

Spacious rooms, but very old furniture. Stains on the carpet. Very few amenities. Pretty good location. But all in all just another motel

Used to be nice, but that ship has sailed. Worst experience I've had paid for in a long time. Spiders in the rooms they leave open all day.even though you're not allowed to check in until 4pm! Of course there's bugs and spiders in the rooms. Shower had a tub that you can't bathe in, and a shower that doesn't work. Employees are mad to do their job or fix anything.
The place looks like they haven't cleaned since last time I was here.
If you like spending money on horrible experiences, by all means, show up.

We wanted a budget hotel that was clean and safe and that’s what we got! Can’t say much more. It’s dated, and showing wear, but has clean sheets and towels, AC and lots of food and coffee within walking distance. Bathtub was not in the best shape, but with shower shoes it’s just fine! Hot water did not have issues like others have noted in our experience. Very safe family oriented neighbourhood. Delicious coffee next door.
Front desk staff not too friendly, but we had no issues with them either.
Overall 4 stars based on our expectations that it was not advertised as the Ritz Carlton but a very budget no frills place. It meets the expectations advertised.

2023-06-12 If you have a few more dollars to spend, please stay away from this place. It smells and the water pressure + temperature to take a shower is instable. Carpet in the room is very dirty. Furniture in beatin up. Curtains need to be change.

Please do not stay here especially if you have children. It was absolutely horrible! For what we paid I didn't have very high expectations, well this was way worse than I expected. My Husband and I went out and bought Lysol, Clorax wipes, pillows and inexpensive sheets. We saw a big yellow stain on the comforter and everything was just rigged to look presentable. There was such a big gap around the side and under the door alot of light came through. I felt like everything in there was dirty, the toilet at the base was very gross and even the blow dryer handle was dirty. We enjoyed that we could walk to get coffee in the morning but that was about it.

You can fit your 9' 2" long " board in the room.but no coffie? Limited amenites

The room, furniture, and appliances are in different states of disrepair. The walls are thin and you can hear everything that is being said if the other rooms are occupied. We only stayed one night, I would not recommend this hotel if you are staying for a prolonged period of time.

Looking to save a few bucks, this is the place. Definitely out dated, the shower walls were peeling off, the bed was horrible, you cold feel the coils through the bed. Very uncomfortable.

I live in hotels and the costumer service here is by far the worst. I had a reservation that I booked about a month out. The day I was supposed to be checking in I get a call at around 5pm and the hotel asks me to pay for my room. I stated I was driving on my way and would pay when I checked in, in a couple hours. They told me that wasn’t good enough and I had to pay now. I again said I was on my was and would pay for my 10 day stay as soon as I got there. The gentleman said that either I give him a credit card now and pay or my reservation would be canceled, and that is exactly what he did so I had to find a new place to stay for the 10 day trip.

You know, I can't complain much. The room is spacious, with great shops and food very near the place. Not to mention, the beach is close by. What's disappointing is if you leave personal items accidentally, they don't even try to get in contact with you for it. I get it. In some places, we are responsible for our things, but it hasn't even been like five hours when we checked out when they threw out a very expensive water bottle. Wifi didn't even work with my devices and the t.v. Had only 1 channel that looked frozen and wasn't working. So I guess if you are not planning on going out much, to bring your own entertainment.

I continue to stay here each trip because of how friendly Jay and Sally are, plus such a good price for being near the ocean! The large rooms are truly non smoking, which is important to me. I also like having a fridge and microwave, iron and ironing board in a very clean room. I feel safe walking in this area, too. I recommend staying here.

It's a great place to stay at by the beach on a budget. The rooms are pretty simple. Bed, fridge, microwave, tv. The TV has one boring channel which was disappointing, the rest of the channels are just static. The WiFi is really slow too, so bring your own entertainment. Service was alright, I had to wait in the empty office for several minutes to check in. Staff is friendly and always working to keep the place clean. Super disappointed that they threw away my good water bottle I left in the fridge when I came back for it. Can't beat the location. Grandview Beach is a 10 minute walk away and there are several restaurants within walking distance.

I really like this place. It’s clean, quiet, well located, and very comfortable. It might be a Rodeway Inn, but it offers all of the comfort and amenities of a Hotel with a higher star rating. I highly recommend this place.
