Roeding Park reviews
12Nice park. People playing tennis. Bbq pits and plenty of benches and picnic tables. Dog park looks nice. The zoo is there. Lots of geese. Decent park.
They did a magnificent job redoing this zoo! Amazing and beautiful! This is a must place to go to. The exhibits are beautiful and engaging. You can really get close to the animals at most exhibits.
The zoo area is awesome and I love that now there are fruit and food vendors right outside of the zoo. Very convenient.
My wiife and I went to Iluminature last night was really impressive. I can't wait to go back, to check out the zoo. Thank you Chafee Zoo for all you do
I've been going here since I was a child I'm 66 now and I still think it's great. Keep up the great work! Thanks!
The zoo is always a favorite in our family, and with all the additions they have done is even greater!
Don't forget to pay for parking. This is a big park with a lagoon, Chaffee zoo, Storyland, and separate amusement park: Playland.
This park is not the same as it was years ago! It is still a okay park, but there is a lot of transients around! Especially in the bathrooms!
Still love it after all these years literally raising all of my 6 kids here but the youngest still goes every week n she is 10 n ALL THE IMPROVEMENTS N AREA'S ARE AWESOME N LONG OVER DUE FOR FRESNO N OUR WILD ANIMALS
It's a lot more than a city park, Frederick and Marianne Roeding donated that piece of land to the city of Fresno way back in 1902. Then their son George Christian Roeding and his best friend Johanas Reims traveled the world by boat (before air planes) to collect live tree's from almost every continent on the globe (if they thought there was a tree on Antarctica these two pioneers would have went to Antarctica) and they created a ONE OF A KIND IN THE WORLD ABORITORIUM, a living museum for trees that represents the whole world. Unfortunately, because of Chafees malice for the Roedings, their are only 63 of the original 220 acres left for the world to enjoy. AND CHAFEES MALICE IS SO REAL THEY ARE DESPERATELY TRYING TO ERASE THOSE LAST 63 ACRES
I love this park. I come here to go to the zoo. Or to just have lunch at the zoo over looking an Safari with Elephants, Rinos etc.it's awesome.the whole vibe for lunch. I use the park for pictures and have been to a few functions here. The bathrooms were functional, there was plenty of parking.
The park has spread out and is so different than when I was growing up in Fresno. I wanted to drive through and site-see but wasn't sure which way to go. And there's a five-dollar admission for cars. So, I drove around and viewed it from the side street.
On my next visit, I'm going to go in and take a look at the Zoo and Fairytale Town.
