I visited the Elk Grove establishment on Sunday evening for pick up of 2 Penne Rustica’s. The price has gone up (significantly) like everything else, and I don’t mind paying but the quality of the food has taken a dive. I was originally perplexed because in the past, I would receive a complimentary loaf of bread and pay for an additional loaf. Last night, I was charged for the first loaf. The cashier Ariana was extremely courteous and went to obtain her manager because she said she’d only been on takeout for a short time. While she was finding the manager, Diamond (it took him about 10 minutes to come talk to me; Ariana had to look for him AGAIN and said he was finishing up something on the computer and would be right out. I actually decided to leave the restaurant because my food was getting cold but returned after I saw him through the door), I asked another server about the complimentary bread policy and he confirmed what I originally thought. However when Diamond (he also was courteous) came to talk to me, he stated that there is a charge for each loaf of bread. I accepted the explanation even though I’d just been told something different 10 minutes earlier. But to add insult, after paying nearly $50 bucks, the Penne Rusticas were hardly edible because the pasta was hard as a BRICK! Of course, I couldn’t return them because I’d just complained about not receiving the complimentary bread (by the way, it wasn’t the minimum cost for the bread because I know there’s inflation, it was the principle for me). Again, I don’t mind paying the costs for good food either, but paying for sub par food is another thing! I was extremely disappointed!

The Elk Grove location will close soon based on our experience last night. We couldn't get drinks, food was a challenge and Cindy the server and the manager were less than interested in anything we needed including water. Bad from start to finish in a just about empty restaurant. Very sad.

Wasn't given good service the waiter was too busy to even get us condiments. Had to ask a different person working to get us mustard and ketchup.

Well the macaroni grill is one of the favorite places for us to go and have pasta. I always enjoy the pasta Milano which is shown below and the bread there with olive oil and a little vinegar is always delicious. The wait staff are always attentive the atmosphere is always mellow and the whole experience is always great.

I came to get a early dinner and I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the steak (medium rare) and potatoes the steak was well done, potatoes were runny and the broccolini was under cooked. I also ordered the unlimited soup which I was not served until my meal came and it had no crackers and I was only served one bowl. They took my soup bowl and never brought another one terrible! The young lady was sweet but inattentive no customer service skills Although my meal was taken off it was a terrible experience I don’t think I’ll be returning
Very unsatisfied and hungry ex customer

My first time here, my parents have been many times and usually like it. Our server tried hard, he was the bartender as well and he did his best. I think they were very understaffed. The food took a long time then shortly before the food came out we were told they ran out of meatballs, so we could get the spaghetti without meatballs or have a sausage substitute or just wait longer while they made them. Minutes later our food came out and our server said that actually he was given wrong info and they had the meatballs. My spaghetti hardly had any sauce, it was mostly just noodles and the "meatballs" I was given were very salty, small and dry, almost like they scraped up what they could. The lobster bisque tasted mostly like plain tomatoe soup.
Unpleasant expensive experience.

This place is always good. Highly recommended with well behaved kids, they let you draw on the table. The food and selection of drinks is very good

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Management is awful, and they know why they are. No need to blast it here. Hint: hold your employees accountable and get rid of the trash.

Let's face it. Macaroni Grill went downhill after COVID. However, my husband and I revisited, and we have to say that the quality of food and service has exceeded our expectations. To all that read this review, give it a try again. You won't be disappointed. Kudos to our server Navi and management.

The food was ok but there are not enough staff. Waiting time is horrible long just to place the order and the worst part is that the restaurant was empty. Poor lady, she still did her best.

All our pasta was way undercooked. Brussel sprouts seemed to be broiled. Not roasted, so dry. Never had spicy Bolognese sauce before.

A Mixed Experience at Macaroni Grill: Admirable Service with an Unfortunate Incident

During our recent visit to Macaroni Grill, my family and I had an overall positive dining experience, thanks to the attentive service provided by our server. However, while the server performed his duties well, there was a regrettable incident where he touched my wife in a joking manner, which left us feeling somewhat disrespected. Despite this unfortunate occurrence, it is important to provide an honest and balanced review of our experience, highlighting both the server's competence and the need for respectful interactions.

Our server at Macaroni Grill demonstrated commendable skills in attending to our dining needs. He was prompt in greeting us, seating us comfortably, and providing menus. He exuded a friendly and approachable demeanor, making us feel welcomed and valued as patrons. Throughout the meal, he displayed good knowledge of the menu, offering helpful recommendations and accommodating any special requests we had.

The server exhibited efficiency in taking our orders and ensured that our beverages were promptly refilled. He was attentive to our table, checking on us periodically to ensure our satisfaction. His timing with serving our meals was appropriate, allowing us to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. These aspects of his service were commendable and contributed positively to our dining experience.

Regrettably, during the course of the meal, there was an incident where the server touched my wife in a joking manner that left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. It is important to note that any form of physical contact without consent is unacceptable and goes against the principles of professionalism and respect in the service industry. While the server's intention may have been lighthearted, it is crucial for service staff to exercise restraint and be mindful of personal boundaries to ensure the comfort and well-being of all customers.

We must emphasize that such an incident can overshadow an otherwise positive dining experience. It is essential for establishments to provide proper training and guidelines to their staff, ensuring they understand and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and respect when interacting with customers.

Our experience at Macaroni Grill was a mix of positive service and an unfortunate incident that marred our overall impression. The server demonstrated competence in carrying out his duties, displaying good knowledge of the menu and providing attentive service. However, the incident involving an inappropriate touching incident was highly regrettable and left us feeling disrespected.

We urge Macaroni Grill and similar establishments to emphasize the importance of proper training and conduct, ensuring that all staff members adhere to respectful interactions with customers. While we acknowledge the server's positive attributes, it is imperative to address incidents like these to maintain a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for all patrons.
