Great hiking trails. I recommend the Juaneno Trail. It's an easy 2.68 mile one way trail and you see amazing bluff cliffs to your left and so much cactus! I've never been on a trail with so much cactus. It was like a cactus wonderland. If you decide to hike on the Badger Pass Trail, there is no shade and it is very steep. I think it's worth it though for the views you get. They also have a wonderful Nature Center and a few souvenirs for purchase. $3.00 for a day use pass. I went during a weekday and only saw three people on the trail. Bring lots of water as it gets hot in this park not just during the summer months. Enjoy!

Part of the OC Parks system, it's a wonderful place for camping or just day use. There are hiking trails, a playground, portable bathrooms (the real ones are perpetually broken), and a nature center. The grounds are very well maintained, and the hiking trails are magnificent. I've been here a few different times with the YMCA Adventure Guides program.

Great location BUT the gate keeper needs to relax. Why be so unpleasant and difficult? People are visiting to enjoy life not be schooled by a gate keeper with an ego. This Opinion was shared by other campers throughout the camp sites.

We have been camping here on a moments notice for as long as I can remember. 20 minutes from our home in San Clemente. But it feels like we're a long way from home. Beautiful camp sites, trails and wildlife. The nature center is wonderful with star gazing parties at night.

My wife and I have 4 adult children and two 11 year old twins. Yeah, that was a shocker at the time. We like taking our twins to Caspers. The boys love it.

The gate keeper a white rather fat gentleman was very rude upon our entrance! They have this weird rule about camping next to friends n small kids. The PARK RANGERS WERE NICE BUT KEPT DRIVING BY OUR SITE AND EVEN STOPPED TO SAY please keep the noise down at 3pm in the afternoon! We will never go back.

Great park to visit, "the friendly ghost" is what I call it.

They are in the process of some updates, temporary portable restrooms have been placed.

We are staying two nights and even though the showers and restrooms are inaccessible right now (7/28/2022), we love the park and camping spot.

Bring bug spray and beware of ants and flys but enjoy!

20 minutes from home and you get to beautiful 7.000 acres of nature land, with beautiful trails, birds and wildlife to enjoy. There’s no water at the moment and they are working in repair it, so bring your own. We love to hike here and camp all of the time! The park rangers are the most kind. Such a wonderful park.

Very nasty gate keeper, disrespectful and without the ability to communicate properly. I believe her name is Veronica or Victoria, nasty little woman. I'm a disabled senior and could have used a little more courtesy, She may have been trying to take advantage. I will call the main office and complain. She has no business dealing with people.

This is a gorgeous place to hike or camp. There's a really nice playground for the kids. The drive there from Lake Elsinore is absolutely beautiful. Trailers are ok for camping there, but i don't think hook-ups were offered. Definitely check before you make plans. Also, keep an eye peeled for snakes.

Because of the draught, water service isn't available. But, you can still pay full price and bring your own water. That is why only a four star

Ranger was very friendly. It cost us $3 for the day. We drove through and walked around taking in the sites. The gift shop/info center does close early. There is a campground. Beware of snakes.

This area is a convenient location in South Orange County. The camp sites are nice with water and fire pits. The bathrooms are port-o-potties.
Still within ear shot of the Ortega Highway, but far enough away to enjoy some natural space.
Got harassed a bit by the park rangers upon entrance because our group (5 young families with kids 6yrs and under) reserved 5 sites next to each other. Apparently they were very concerned that we'd be disturbing the other campers? I think it was just a weird park ranger though.

It is an ok place, but right now you have to bring in ALL YOUR WATER. No bathrooms are open, but they do have porta potties. Not to many shady places for camping.

Beautiful camping park that has electrical hook ups for RV's, tent camping with fire rings and BBQ grills, day use area for a picnic or hike, a nature center with observation deck, beautiful wildlife and a playground for the kids. I will share that this is a dry camp location right now as they have NO WATER THROUGHOUT THE PARK! NO DOGS PERMITTED so leave them at home. This is a County facility so your State pass will not work here. Wildlife include Rattlesnakes, Mule Deer, Mountain Lions, Coyote, Bobcat, different birds, insects, and many more. Keep aware of your surroundings and notify the Park Ranger if you require assistance.
