Room and board isn't what it used to be. I can handle the higher end prices and waiting 6 months for furniture to be delivered, but ultimately it's not worth it. They really seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the people that actually deliver the items as the last 2 orders have been messed up in ways that waste incredible amounts of my time to resolve. As a homeowner, you do not want to take on more "fix-it" projects if you don't have to.

Why does the delivery matter so much? Well, Imagine one driver being so lazy that he practically demands you to drive your own truck to pick up the items so he doesn't have to. Then when you say no, he hangs up in the middle of cussing at you. When they do finally arrive, they have broken one of the items. Worse yet, they don't pay attention when moving furniture and now a doorframe needs to be repaired on your brand new house.

All I wanted was some furniture.not to spend time with a welder, a painter to fix my doorframe, and to pick up furniture that I'm paying to have delivered.

Never ordering from them again.

I had such a great experience designing my living room set with Room & Board's fantastic staff. They were patient and engaged, never pushy, never hovering over me. I landed on a set that is comfy, cozy, and feels like me. They were upfront with supply chain issues that would delay my order, and once it arrived, their delivery staff was careful with my items, and answered all my questions. I will be going back to plan my bedroom revamp soon!

They have great furniture and home wares, and the employees are very helpful. Plus, they have a spacious parking lot, a bonus in SF.

Lots of people not wearing masks inside. They should have a policy that enforces mask wearing inside the store

We live in the neighborhood and pop in occasionally to see if they have anything new. Many times we have not had a single person approach us for assistance. We have to track someone down to ask a question. They have tons of staff on the floor but they come off very snobby. It’s like they don’t take us as serious buyers due to our age/casual clothes.

Definitely an expensive place to buy furnitures. Their furnitures looks nice and the onsite staff are helpful on designing. BUT, their service kept going south after your ordered the furniture. For continuously three months, I kept receiving emails from them indicating the estimated availability date would be postponed by another month. After I complained they offered to schedule delivery furnitures that are already in their warehouse, but the earliest delivery date is month away. There was nothing I could do but accepting the fact I had to wait for another month. So I confirmed a delivery date. Then two weeks later as I logged in the Room and Board account, I found one of the available order was not scheduled! Nobody told me what happened and as I called, the staff at Room and Board didn't know what happened either. They kept saying they were sorry but again, there was nothing they could do but made me wait another 4 weeks.
No matter how nice the furniture looked in the showroom, it was very disappointed experience shopping there. Buying furnitures is a very big purchase and should have been joyful. Now I feel I made a good decision that I didn't by other furnitures from them. If so, how much more time would have been wasted!?

Definitely an expensive place to buy furniture. And I wasn’t a fan of having to track some one to help me. And most of the sofas look the same. Once we got some help the process became much better and the sales lady was really sweet. So if you have the money it’s not a bad place. I did like the mid century modern looking stuff they had

Great fun furniture store. More expensive than a lot of affordable furniture (a sale at Macy's will make this place look overpriced), but a higher ratio of nicely made things and much of it is made in the usa.

Horrible! I ordered a bed frame in 7/5 July 5th. When I placed the order, it says it would arrive in mid September. Nobody gave me any updates after that. So I emailed them in early Sept and they told me delayed to late Sept. Nothing happened in late Sept so I emailed back, they said it would arrive U. S. 10/18. Around 10/20 finally someone called me saying it was scheduled for delivery 10/28. Then AGAIN Nothing Happened! I had to call them again, now they said it is confirmed for delivery 11/6. I don’t know how confirmed it is this time.so I’m waiting for my bed for 4 months and haven’t got it and the company kept postponing the delivery date without any explanation, any apologies, they even never contacted me that I have to chase them down. BTW, I paid $3000+ in full in JULY!

I would not recommend this company to anyone.

David & crew were great to work with and very professional. His prices were reasonable and competitive. We had 6 pieces of furniture that needed to be built, at least 80 total separate pieces/boxes all in all. This would have taken me days to do myself but David got it done within the same day. He even followed up and came back to ensure certain furniture were anchored to the wall properly a few days after.

Nice solid mid level furniture for most any household. Excellent displays show how to coordinate and create a good useable living space.

The selections and collections are broad ranging, price ranging and taste ranging enough that you can furnish your whose house without looking like you went to one store. Additionally, the designers are exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and low pressure. Delivery service is amazing, and delivery guys are equally knowledgeable, helpful, and prepared when delivering your furniture. Customer service is top notch. For instance, we ordered a dining room table that came with one leg in the wrong finish, and customer service had us keep the table until the replacement table arrived. You may find more economical mid century modern furnishings, but you won't be happy with the quality.
