Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles reviews
19 My Birthday/Disneyland weekend was soo nice!?
Saved our appetites, checked out hotel before we get on road. Did enjoy meal; however, even after lunch hour.we still had 1hr 23mins wait. (Given it was Fiancée's 1st time trying Roscoes.) We almost left cause we were told just a 30mins wait which ok to deal with given that we still had a 7hr drive home. Then I realized security guy was just trying to lend a hand w/ the busy hostess, waitresses & establishment. When I approached to follow up he sincerely apologized for delay and was on it rt away w mgt. His empathy and team player "character self" kept us there! Hope he is appreciated by mgt.
Being from the great state of South Carolina, I can tell you Roscoe's nails the authentic taste of good ole' home cooking soul food style. It's old fashioned Sunday dinner on the plate. My fried chicken was moist and crispy, the collard greens were flavored to perfection. I Loved the huge serving of fluffy cornbread to complement my meal. To top it off the sweet candy yams hit the spot on a California southern feast.
Always wanted to try them out. Finally did. We went late and they were out of chicken breast and thighs. My wife did like her chicken sandwich but the waffle were more like pancakes. One of there hot sauces was really good.
My first time trying Roscoes chicken and waffles and I must say I was very surprised on how good the food tasted…… I had the chicken breast, greens and Mac and cheese
Since I’m a mac & cheese lover I was a little skeptical about it until I talk to the waiter who said it was delicious…. He was spot on
Great service provided by Neal
The Obama Special was delicious. The wings needed a little seasoning. I used a chili and garlic sea salt seasoning I bought at them 99 cent store. Which made the wings taste fantastic! The waffle wasn't fluffy but it was huge and delicious. I also ordered a biscuit and a bowl of gravy. The biscuit was hard. I added butter and heated it in the microwave, which made it better. The gravy had NO taste at all. Just a taste of thick oil with onions floating in it.yuck!
The food is pretty decent. The greens taste like from a can and the Mac was way overcooked. 3 stars because someone from my party got sick and they basically told them they were full of it. Oh well. Won't be going back
The food was just good. I have no complaints but I think I can scratch this attraction off my bucket list. The grits and eggs made me feel at home. My kids enjoyed the Obama special, our server was great. It was a loooong wait to get in, but the staff was very pleasant outside in the waiting patio.
The chicken is good, pushing great. The waffles were cold. The chicken sandwich was like something served in elementary school, a cheap, premade chicken patty. Orders took a while too.
Ok place, just stick with the chicken and maybe the chefs salad. Avoid everything else.
Chicken was ok at best. Waffles were just waffles. A friend told us we should just get Stater Bros. Chicken and eggos.she was right. 70 bucks including tip for some very basic food. Atmosphere wasn't great and plating was lame. Not really recommended but hey, I can say I've eaten there I guess.
Over priced and mediocre food. Sides were good but the chicken did not meet expectations. A bowl of plain white rice was five dollars.
Came here with a few friends and family on a Friday evening around 10: 30pm. According to their site they are open until 12am however we got here and someone who worked at the location mentioned that they closed around 10pm and they have not updated their restaurant hours in over a year. It was very upsetting being that I am out of town, and was really looking forwards to eating here tonight, and being told that the information provided in incorrect.
This place would be a whole lot better if you didn't have to wait a long time to get in and then a long time to get your food and then a long time to pay. They gotta get a better system in place. Besides that, the food was great.
Great food and super nice server! Very fast, but only took cash so that was the only downside but otherwise it was great.
Celebrated my birthday with my family. Had the worst experience ever eating at this establishment. Hour and a half wait for a table and then another 45 to get food. All food was cold, the butter just sat on waffles not able to melt. Sent food back 4 times for my table of 6 and still was wrong. My cold order was put in the microwave, after I ate off it, and then returned to me! Hence the season of COVID.honestly I will never eat here again. Server Christian was a great. The kitchen was understaffed. Manager only said OK when told issues. No explanation or apology, the manager just blew it off. She did adjust the bill, but as we explained to her, it was not about the money, we wanted quality food and service that matched the price we were paying. This was really sad.
You are visiting L. A.skip Denny's and IHOP and go to Roscoe's! Huge portions, amazing tastes, and friendly staff put this on the top of your list. GO!
Once seated it took over 45 minutes to get our food. When we got it half of our orders were cold. Chicken was dry and waffles were soggy. Asked for a kids drink for a 2 year old and received a $4 “kids drink”. We were told certain sides were different prices and were shocked to see that they were much more expensive when we got the bill. Waitress recommended something “cheaper” to help save money which ended up adding another $5. Cafeteria food at best with high prices. Will not be coming back. Which is sad because we have liked other locations. Don’t waste your time.
Came from AZ with kids to go to Disneyland. Got to Roscoes about 9 and they wouldnt let us in because they were closing and said they dont know how long it would be for take out. Then was told we should have came earlier. Never going back!
I was expecting better. I had the two fried thighs with yams, greens, cornbread, macaroni and cheese. The chicken was extra small. I didn't even know that they were thighs, I thought they were wings. The greens were not cut as small as they should have been and they were not seasoned at all. The other person that ordered greens didn't eat hers either. The chunks were too big and tough. The macaroni and cheese was mediocre. There was nothing special about it. It almost had a store bought taste. The cornbread was ok. Nothing to preach about. And.they didn't have SWEET TEA! This is a crime in 49 states except California. I almost called the police.
I've been craving some good fried chicken for months now and finally, my yearning is satisfied. The chicken was crispy and not over or under seasoned. It wasn't super greasy/wet like that rubbish from kfc. It also wasn't dry or flavorless like so many other restaurants offer.
The Anaheim location was busy and we had a bit of a wait, but I'm happy we waited.
It's a very hands off place- meaning they're not jumping by your table every five minutes. Totally fine. I didn't want to talk. There was eating to be done.
