Came out the next day after calling them at 10pm night before. Had a check valve failure that cause major leaking in bathrooms. Josiah was very professional. He knew exactly what was going on, found the problem right away without using any tools. Didn’t even charge me!

How tacky of this company to continually park their van between two family owned plumbing businesses in Vista- when their business is miles away off sycamore. I drive by everyday on my way to work and see their van parked in different spots between Hannah plumbing and Vista Plumbing, yet when I called to see if they were around so I could go in, they said they’re in a different location and the van just gets left there for promoting.

I will never hire Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup again. They're plumbing guys did a great job. The water clean up and reconstruction was and is a nightmare! Water clean up supposedly costed 17,000$ worth but all they did was rip up part of my flooring and put some fans up. Over next couple months my house smelled like mold. So I had to pull up rest of the flooring in the kitchen and eventually living room area and discard it on my own. Floor and some of walls were covered in mold. I think I did more cleaning up then they did. Construction team has been helpful with trouble I had with getting money from HOA but contractors are so unorganized. Told me it'd be a week when cabinets were ordered. We'll cabinets were wrong twice and still waiting. Just annoyed and stressed been without a kitchen since 30th of December 2022. Pictures of mold, flooring I had to clean up and discard. And wrong cabinets ordered first time second time wrong size cabinet was ordered. Somehow my sink just went missing! They said it was there and denied that they took it. How does a whole sink go missing? Supposedly the cleanup team is paying for a new one.

Title: Toxic Management Culture Hinders Potential at Roto-Rooter

Rating:

As a former Recruiter Coordinator at Roto-Rooter, based in the Corporate Vista Office, I have mixed feelings about my experience with the company. While I thoroughly enjoyed my job responsibilities and developed positive relationships with my coworkers and hiring managers, the overall management culture left much to be desired. It is with a heavy heart that I must express my concerns regarding the toxic work environment and the absence of a functional HR department.

One of the most glaring issues at Roto-Rooter is the lack of a functioning HR department. This absence makes it incredibly difficult for employees to seek proper guidance and support, especially when it comes to payroll matters. I witnessed the Payroll manager having to constantly call PayChex for guidance, which reflects a lack of organization and clear protocols within the company.

Perhaps the most disheartening aspect of working at Roto-Rooter is the management's response to employees who dare to voice concerns about the negative work environment or their relationship with a supervisor. Instead of offering mediation or intervention to resolve conflicts, individuals are often fired. This punitive approach not only discourages open communication but also perpetuates a culture of fear and retaliation.

The turnover rate at Roto-Rooter is alarmingly high, with 9 new hires in just 12 months during my time there. This aggressive turnover is a clear indicator of deep-rooted issues within the company. Roto-Rooter heavily relies on its brand name to sustain its business, and without it, the company would likely struggle to survive. However, relying solely on brand recognition without addressing internal problems is a short-sighted strategy that can have detrimental effects on long-term success.

The executive department's approach to problem-solving is concerning, as they often resort to offering severance agreements or terminating employees rather than addressing the underlying issues. This not only creates a culture of fear and insecurity but also fails to address the root causes of discontent within the organization.

It is important to note that Roto-Rooter has the potential to be an amazing and successful company, providing a great place for career growth. However, the current culture and work environment severely hamper the prospects of success and professional development. Addressing the toxic management culture and investing in a robust HR department with proper protocols would be essential steps towards fostering a healthier and more productive workplace.

Overall, my experience as a Recruiter Coordinator at Roto-Rooter was marked by a disheartening management culture, lack of HR support, and high turnover rates. While the company's brand name provides some stability, it is essential for Roto-Rooter to address these internal issues if it wants to truly thrive and become a place where employees can grow and succeed.

I called the tech. He Came out I showed him how simple the job was (5’ from the clean out, easy access) he said $340+ but that I even use a water cleaner that would cut the roots off short at 1200. +$$. He said the RotoRooter prices on the internet do not apply to the San Diego RotoRooter dealership and would not honor the $99. Price on the website. I called ASI they promptly came and unclogged asks I used a root cutter all for $57.00 with a 120 day warranty!
