Such a helpful and knowledgeable company! My irrigation was leaking at the valve. Mike told me it was an easy fix, talked me through how to do do it, texted me photos of all the parts I would need and said I didn't need him. I was unable to do it, so he kindly sent his son, Matthew, over. Matthew bought the parts, fixed it with me watching, talking me through each step, so I would know how to do it myself next time. Would definitely use these guys again. Thank you!

Mike was extremely helpful in helping me diagnose a problem with my sprinkler system. He was responsive, knowledgeable, and looking out for my best interest. I'd recommend anyone in the LA area call him first if you have an issue.

I called Mike to get a basic estimate and set up a quote for a small issue I was having with overspray on our street strip of grass. He was incredibly nice and professional, and rather than waste my money, told me how to fix the issue myself, talking me through it step by step, and then giving me guidance on what I could do for next steps if I chose to change out spray bodies. It's not that he didn't want the business, it's just that he didn't see a need for me to pay a contractor and contractor prices to fix my specific problem. I don't think I've seen honesty and care like this in a long while, and will be contacting him if I need a bigger issue fixed or changed with our irrigation system. Very impressed.

WOW, I am so impressed with RototillerGuy. I've had a sprinkler system acting up and watched every YouTube video possible to try and fix it myself and finally gave up. I called to make an appoint to have someone come out - the gentleman who I spoke with was upfront of the cost just to come take a look and said "why don't I try to walk you through it now for free to save you the cost of my trip? " And he walked me through things over the phone for about 20 minutes and helped me FIX the issue! He saved me $225 and was so friendly and kind about it. If you are in need, give them a call, definitely have the customer's best interest in mind.

First of, I need my sprinkler repaired because of low water pressure.
Called in different companies and all gave me different solutions. One company told me that i needed a pressure regulator for my sprinklers, which i already just had one installed for my house and that kinda puzzled me.

So now that i'm confused. So i decided to call one more company and i was so lucky to speak to Mike G of RotoTiller. After explaining to him what the issue was, he told me to text him pictures of my valve and then he called me back to tell me how to adjust the valve to see if that was causing the low pressure. I adjusted it per his instructions, and it did help a bit. He called me back to count the number of heads i have on that one valve and i had 15. He said it was too much and so he instructed me over the phone to get a small screw driver to turn off 3-4 heads because according to him, 1 valve should only have about 12 heads. So i did and it helped a little bit, but i also found out by doing this that one head was broken which was causing the water pressure to be low.

What an outstanding guy! Mike was so patient with me over the phone, FREE of charge and diagnosing the problem and explaining to me what needed to be done. So now, instead of getting a new pressure regulator, i just need to go to Home Depot to fix the broken head.i definitely recommend this company and will use his services in the future.

Thanks again Mike and what a wonderful way to run a business with great customer service. Top notch!

Mike came to our rescue! Had a leaky valve on our sprinkler system. Not only did he fix it, he gave me a tutorial on how to fix its myself as well as how the unit functioned. Very pleasant fellow and very respectful to my 90 year old father. I really appreciated that too.

We love our new yard! Dealing with landscapers or gardeners can be hit or miss, Mike handled his business! I understood clearly up front the costs, he made solid upgrade suggestions, his team was on-time, hard-working, and the job was done on-time and looks amazing! Mike is the right guy fro the job and his prices are very fair especially with what you get for your money.

The sand-type filling at the base between the blades of turf is called Hydrochill. It's pet friendly, FDA-approved, and it keeps the turf cool. I think it works by trapping moisture at night and releasing it during the day via evaporation to keep it cool. Does it get hot? Well, yes, but only in very peak times when it's 100 degrees out and the sun has been beating down on it for a couple hours straight. And even then it's no worse than walking barefoot on hot sand or concrete (I know this because I've hopped back and forth from my concrete to turf during one really peak time, and they were equally hot.) If I water the turf, the Hydrochill does its magic and all is fine. But I've only had one day in the last 2 months (June and July in Culver City) that watering it was necessary.

Such a pleasure to find businesses who put the customer first. RototillerGuy was; friendly, knowledgable, and prices were great. It puts consumers at ease when dealing with someone when those qualities are on display. I would highly recommend RototillerGuy to all for any landscaping needs. Thank you Rototiller Guy for your great service and work!

Never have I been so happy to have someone leave a steaming pile on my driveway! Mike was responsive and accommodating; the delivery was made on my schedule within a few days.
The compost had a little bit of trash in it (parts of horse tack, half a tennis ball), but overall it was just as advertised. I've mixed a little garden soil with the top 1-3" of wherever I'm planting and currently have grass and a nice little veggie garden thriving in my backyard.
Words of warning: This still has a good amount of only partially decomposed pellets that are VERY fibrous. I filled in a deepish stump hole, and a couple months later it is still kinda foamy/bouncy because of all the fibers still supporting it. Inversely, the same properties make it drain really well.
Overall, it was a lot of useful dirt at a good price. I'd use him again the next time I am in need of bulk soil.

Mike was a professional from beginning to end, clear and thorough about the process, cost and results. His bid not only came in cheaper, but he explained how his process ensured the best results. He didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need. When it was time to do the work he showed up promptly and got the job done quickly. Explaining everything in detail. Fantastic experience over all!

Mike and his crew arrived fifteen minutes early. I explained the problem I was having with sprinklers and the areas to be fixed were flagged. I was having a problem with a valve the team realized the valve was put on backwards by a previous handyman and corrected the problem. Saved me a lot of $$. Mike is very straight forward and not trying to steal your $$. Great company to hire!

Called on a Monday afternoon. They were at my house on Tuesday morning, and completely done by Tuesday afternoon. Answered all of my questions and completed every detail of the job exactly as we had discussed. I even noticed that while one of the employees was on a break, he noticed my neighbor, who is an older retired gentleman, cleaning his driveway, and got up to help him. I even received a call later in the week to check up and see how things were going. All in all, I would recommend their services.

We hired Mike first to fix the irrigation and replace sod in our backyard, and later to remove sod in our front yard, prep soil for low water plants and replace irrigation. Another reviewer said they were told the compost used wouldn’t support grass growth, but our backyard is *lush* after a month. A couple sod edges turned brown immediately after install, but before too long everything was established and very green. Both times I called Mike was able to come within two business days, which I was completely not expecting. Mike and his guys were friendly and professional, and worked extremely hard for us, even removing over a ton of concrete buried under our lawn. His business model is very straightforward and no nonsense. Tell him what you want and he will do it, but yes, if it adds work or hauling it will increase the cost. With contracting, most people are probably used to getting a bid, and unless something crazy happens the price doesn’t change. With Mikes model it might feel like “nickel and dimeing”, but that’s what happens with transparent pricing - you get what you pay for and you pay for what you get. Couldn’t be happier with our yards, and the quality and effort of the team.
