First, who gives this a 1, lol.
Second, going into the state park, $10 part station that takes cards about 1/8 mile from this trailhead. Left takes you to the lighthouse, right goes the trail to Emerald Bay. Of you don’t have the extra time, go right.
This trail is incredible, easily in my top 3 off all time. Behind Hanging Lake in Glenwood Canyon and the trail of cookie crumbs to my bedroom.
Not incredibly technical a trail but it does get a little steep and at 6200 or so feet, you might have some heavy breathing at times. But onward for me. The trail starts roughly 200’ high above the lake, but as you trail on, it winds downward toward the lake, and eventually you see it in all is topaz blue glory, incredible man!
Continuing onward, the trail gets a lot closer to the water and teases the adventurer with promise of pictures by the water, but then as you turn the corner, back up you go. But be patient, you are so close. And viola! The trail is now following the shore and you can see the shorelines ahead with their Changing hues of blue from shallow to deep, just so hard to stop looking at. Got into Emerald Bay, and at this point I’ve been in trail 3 hours, time to go back.
It was a little windy this day, so i do want to come back to get that perfect shot, but highly recommend.

Very scenic and nice trail. Definitely download all trails before going, trails aren't marked out so good, but great little hike.

The Rubicon Trail in D. L. Bliss State Park is an amazing trail to hike. It offers an amazing experience following the cliff side and overlooks Lake Tahoe with great views. Highly recommend.

Excellent place to have contact with nature! I recommend it, bring water, suitable shoes! And a lot of energy! I would go back to this place over and over again!

Got here around 8am on a Friday. Not very many parking spots in the area directly across from the trailhead but luckily it was empty when we arrived. The hike is pretty nice and takes you down to the shoreline. We hiked to Vikingsholm and back so you past some campgrounds. The hike back was a bit rougher since we were tired and near the end you are hiking back up to the lot. Might be easier to start closer to Vikingsholm and start the other way around but still a well marked trail with beautiful views.

One of the most iconic scenery trails in California, along the edge of Lake Tahoe overlooking Emerald Bay. Spectacular view over look the bay and the lake. Medium to easy trail for adults, a little bit challenging for small kids. Trail is narrow, so can crowded on busy summer weekends, especially during summer holiday weekend.

We were looking for a lighthouse and found an outhouse. Don't waste your time. Trail is trash and I don't recommend it. Hike at your own risk Read the back of the sign before taking the hike ‍️

This is a trail that I would recommend as a 'create your own length hike' experience. While there are no severe uphill or downhill sections of this hike, I'd say it is mostly downhill from DL Bliss, and approximately 3.6 miles to the north side camping area of Emerald Bay. Leaving from DL Bliss at approximately 10am, having lunch at the aforementioned camp site (which we packed, there are no services other than a very basic restroom at the campsite) and occasionally pausing to take pictures along the hike we returned to our vehicle at the trailhead at about 3pm. Be prepared for an all day or at least half day (if you're a fast hiker) experience. The round trip clocked in at ~17000 steps according to our fitness trackers. That said, this location is amazing and you are able to experience a wide variety of environments including dense forest trail, cliffside above water, small beachheads, and others. The pictures really speak for themselves. This is a well maintained trail without any really significantly dangerous sections. Highly recommended, just come prepared and bring plenty of water.

The trail can be challenging so beware. There wasn't too many people on the trail with it being the last day it was open. It also helped that it was a Monday. Lots of people were wearing a mask in the trail or when they approached people pit their mask on. We only did 5 miles of the trail which tools us to Farley Beach and back. The trail does get pretty narrow at some points, but everyone was good about stepping aside and letting others pass. Lots of shaded areas. I will definitely return to do this trail again.

Nice hike along the water with intermittent sun and shade from the trees. Moderate level hike. Good cardio but not excessively hard. We did around 3.5 miles. Lighthouse along the trail was disappointing.

Incredible place, but crazy how the land was donated to California and they have the audacity to charge $35/night to sleep on the floor in a tent! And $10 to park.

Pretty easy 1 mile steep path in the woods and over cliffs. Good for kids 6 and up to go on their own. If you have smaller kids gonna have to carry them, but it's not a big deal as it is only a mile and the view it's worth every step of the way!

Very cute park. Access to little beaches. Went rock climbing on a few clifts. It was very pretty. $10 entry fee

Beautiful trail hugging the Lake most of the time. Going after Labor Day means less people and usually great weather! Better views on this trail of the entire lake than anywhere else in Lake Tahoe!
