17I've been going to Rubios since the 90's & the service have been greater since the first time I started.
They must have new people cooking because the last two times I have gone to eat there were disappointing. The food is not the same. I'll drive to the one in san marcos before I would eat at this location again.
Do not order food here they completely jacked up my order n you they dont even answer the phone n the restaurant is a mess

Things on their online menu are no longer available. Slow service, staff has bad attitudes and not well trained.
Ordered from door dash the chicken cob salad, two fish tacos, salmon bowl with extra side of fish salsa and extra onions cilantro, and large ice teas spent 55 dollars the only in the bag was chicken Cobb salad, thier was two some kind beef tacos but it tasted like beyond meat, side of beans, the other was some other fish tacos but not the original with Mexican corn and cauliflower rice and no drinks or anything else. And the beyond me made me sick
Only negative.the tables are clean but very sticky. The surface should be sanded and resurfaced.
I was 30 minute on the phone. And didn’t answer. Don’t know what customer service this is. & when I enter to the restaurant, no body answer the ya phone, ”.
I am so surprised to read the negative reviews for this Rubio's as I have had nothing but excellent food and service the last several times I have ordered.
I am finally reviewing because tonight I had issues with my order via the app which required me calling the store multiple times (various resolutions recommended by the shift lead needed to be attempted) and each time she was absolutely professional and incredibly helpful, A grade customer service 100%. She went above and beyond to take care of my issue during a dinner rush nonetheless! Normally most places I would have called and called and they would not even pick up the phone! Not here! The gentleman and young lady who answered both times were also polite, cordial and diligent-got me on the phone with their shift leader promptly each time.
Moreover, I would like to give major props to the shift lead, ITCELL (really hope I'm spelling her name correctly, she was GREAT) for turning my Taco Tuesday Turbulence into a Rubio's 5 star experience. Faith in humanity restored! Thanks again, I'll be back!

Great food as always, but very poor service. Took two people to take my order. Didn't want to accept my coupon that was valid, as they didn't know how to que it in. Once they figured it out I was then overcharged. No appologies given. Very discouraged! They need to hire people who can do the job correctly.
The cashier was very helpful and friendly. The issue was the food was too expensive for mediocre fish tacos. $4.79 for one ala carte taco and the combo $11. A total rip off the fish was tiny no bigger than my middle finger will never go to Rubio's ever again
We normally love Rubio's but this was not one of those night. They close at 10pm. We arrived at 8: 50 pm. They already had most of the chairs and stools up on the tables. The bathrooms were closed, the employee said they already cleaned them for the night. My friend had to beg them to use it. And the smell in the restaurant was not good. It smelt like they used a sour mop. The food did not taste fresh and was not hot. This was definitely not our best time.
I really hate giving them a bad rating but the food was just not good. The employees are very nice but when the food is this unappetizing I don’t know what sort of cost cutting the place has got to be doing.
The lemonade tasted watered down and multiple patrons noticed that. The fish taco tasted as if the crispy fish inside had sat out and been re fried it was extremely hard in some parts of the fish and I had to pull out parts because they were hard like bone. The chips were not fresh tasting they tasted a bit like they were made in the morning for the day. The salsas were bad most smelled off and they were separating. The only food that was really edible was the shrimp burritos they seemed to be the only part of the meal that didn’t taste old.
I really hope that these things will go back to normal someday before it’s too late because today I felt like I wasted $50 for food that I ended up not even wanting to eat.
Ok I have always loved Rubios so I’m posting that someone over there will read this. The shrimp is always cold and undercooked.they used to have the best shrimp tacos. My last experience was at the San Marcos restaurant but it has been consistent will every rubios I have been. I always order my order “extra cooked” and that helped in the past but now they ignore me and the tacos are not good because the shrimp is always cold and undercooked. So I won’t be going anymore.: (
Two starts because the food was standard issue Rubio's but tye service was atrocious. We stood there about 15 mins before anyone even acknowledged our presence and took our order. When we asked for salsa and lemons the female employee did everything humanly possible to avoid eye contact in order to ignore us.
On 3/1/2022 around 8: 30pm, I ordered Rubio’s for the first time on Grubhub, when I opened the bag of food and displayed it on the table, I noticed that a bite was taken out of a taco with teeth marks showing. This absolutely unsanitary, disgusting, and extremely unsafe. I know it wasn’t the grubhub driver because the bag was bagged neatly and it wasn’t messy, the food container that had the tacos was at the bottom of the bag and two burritos, salsas, Napkins, and utensils were stacked on top.
When I called to complain to the night shift manager (Dory), she stated that she packed the bag herself and and she sealed it at the bag handles as the seal tape cannot be removed otherwise it would rip. She could not answer anything after that.
Tip: Do not order food around closing time, it bothers employees at some restaurants.
This location often gets orders wrong with subpar food compared to other rubios. Went a few times but it keeps happening so I am just going to drive farther to another location because they are not fixing the issues. Maybe a bad cook idk?
Felt like I needed to shower after being in here. Smelled weird, dirty floors, and tables so sticky you have to peel your arm off. Absolutely not, Rubios!
