Sacramento Children's Museum reviews
17 This place is pretty amazing! My 2 year old and I love that she gets to use her imagination when serving me play coffee or ice cream. She loves the little shopping areas! And I can't wait for her to be old enough to participate in the arts and crafts. I think this place would be fun for kids up to, my guess would be, around 8 or so, unless they are particularly into the crafts or the project area!
They are part of the Museums for All, which means that with an EBT card and ID, there's a wonderful discount for entry ($2 per person, for up to 2 adults and 2 children)
We LOVE Children's Museum. The staff is friendly, and my kids always have a good time.
Best plave to take the kids on a rainy day! Or any day! Loved it.
Stayed way longer then we planned to! Nice staff too!
My children love this museum, they have many activities that you can see on their website in advance, and best of all, they make modifications to the museum, so the children don't get bored. They just opened a new section Nov. 2022
We absolutely LOVE the Sacramento Children’s Museum. So many exciting & fun things to play with for all ages, caring staff members, and new activities made available weekly! There’s always something special going on here, no matter what day you come. Each and every staff member goes above and beyond to show kindness and interact with you and your child! After our first visit, we became members immediately, SCM is our favorite!
Fantastic place for young kids. I always take my daughters and they are entertained for hours. Everything is always clean and the staff is super kind and professional. We highly recommend a membership if you see yourself going more than once a year.
This place is amazing! Hands on learning and fun! Great for littles up to I'd say around 10-12 years old.
This is a publicly funded activity center. One of the activites was a rocket that the kids could stand in. Constructed of cardboard.
I've made one for my grandson that was of better quality. The two wind tunnels and the big blue blocks were the only remotely fun exhibits. A canoe with no oars, 3 magnetic fishing poles with for the 10 fish kept in the canoe, no lake. A few dozen balls in the ball pit. Two sets of ramps to demonstrate gravity using golf balls and a kiddie pool? Really? How embarrasing that this museum is near the state capital. This is a sad representation of the quality of interactive options for our children. The management should go on a field trip to the children's museum in Sonoma. Now, that was fun. Not more expensive, just much much much more interesting. This waste of time, on the other hand is shameful. No stars, none, zero.
Beautiful place, but definitely not coming back. In our first visit, this place needed better staff training. A lady was with her kid, and he hit his head and bleed a lot! NO STAFF HELP OR CALL 911! They only throw a little first aid kit at the table! I ran to help this lady and hold the poor kid. All the staff did was just ask us to leave because they didn't want blood on the table! So Rude and inconsiderate, the mom of this kid was in shock and she wasn't responding well, and I can't believe I was the only one there to help, and no staff member would help and only ASKED US TO LEAVE! I also ask if somebody can call an ambulance while they were replaying to wait outside! Horrible people!
We've been coming here since my son was 1, and now both my 7 yr-old son and 4 yr-old daughter enjoy their visit each time! We love that they have new innovative games for kids to use their imaginations and play their hearts out!
Went on July 4th weekend and it was packed then. But the kids still had a lot of fun. Lovely place for kids,!
This place is always fun! We have only visited twice now, about 9 months apart. But there was quite a few different exhibits and play areas that had changed during that time. I like that they keep it fresh for the kids.
And they had everything you could want for your toddler! We played with blocks, pretended to be a veterinarian, worked in a grocery store - complete with pushing a shopping cart all around the whole place - operated a coffee and donut cart, magnet-fished out of a full sized canoe, glamped, and even did some paintings on both paper and a glass wall. Was a great way to entertain the kid for a few hours!
I had fun with my 2 year old here and spent about 90 minutes going slow checking out everything. In my opinion, it is geared for 2-3 year olds. There are some arts and craft stations for older kids (coloring, painting, etc.) and a more complicated looking magnetic exhibit, but besides for that I think most kids over 4-5 will find it too elementary.
Didn’t get to check out any of the events or storytimes, but I look forward to doing it.
We went with kids ages 5,9, and 12. Everybody had fun! Great staff, really fun "stations". We were there over 2 hours and it was worth every penny.
This place is amazing. So many fun things for the children to do from paint to pretend play. Very friendly staff and fun way to spend the day.
Visited this establishment for the first time. It doesn't look like the picture, don't be fooled by the pictures.the establishment is so worn out and dirty that in some places it was not pleasant to approach and use toys. The veterinarian's coat was torn, the glasses with paints to paint on the glass were empty, the glass was dirty. There were a lot of people, without restrictions. I'm sorry, but that was terrible. I will never go back there with a child.
Took the 4 year old grandson. He had a great time. Very tactile, visual, and still familiar for the young ones. He did not want leave and we will be back. Be prepared for the noise and craziness.
