4I love flying in and out of this airport. It's small, but boasts many destinations with all the popular airlines. Security is tight and TSA is efficient and friendly (enough). Located outside of the city proper, yet within driving distance from the major urban hubs, including Davis, Sacramento, Elk Grove, Yuba City, and even Folsom.
Smaller airport slightly convenient to catch a flight from here. Might hit some traffic on i5 by downtown or close to the airport for construction. Somewhat pricey food options. But like terminal B.aka the newer terminal. Now days started getting packed maybe because of the holiday.
My flight was on Saturday afternoon 1/9/2021. I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first time flying during the pandemic. I waited 0 minutes to go through TSA security screening and had no problem social distancing in the gate area. The airport was eerily quiet.
With a job that requires travel, I must say this is actually one of my favorite airports. Why, because it's not too large and I can get in and out quicker than most other airports. I've always encountered friendly staff and been fortunate enough to never have a cavity search by TSA.
