Sacramento Pipeworks Climbing and Fitness reviews
31Definitely one of my favorite climbing gyms in Northern California! Excellent all around, lots of top rope amd lead options, huge bouldering area, and super cool staff. Highly recommend for beginners and expert climbers.
Homeless ppl sleep around the place and make it a little scary to me if I wanted to go inside wud I be followed or robbed they need security guards to keep ppl from sleeping Right in the side of the gates
Nice, clean and spacious bouldering gym but pricier than others, I usually go to a different one in Sacramento that's about 30% percent cheaper. I do like going here a couple times a month just to change it up, would make this my primary location if prices are reduced
Hi! I’ve been climbing for about 2 years, and i have pipeworks to thank for my growth and love towards rock climbing, i can’t wait to take more vigorous classes!
I don't climb but my son and his family do. He takes them as often as he can and his 3yo daughter loves it.
This is a great place to bring your kids to! They have something for every skill level: novice to advanced.
City of Sacramento: 1 star
Pipeworks: probably 5 stars
I'm from out of state and would have liked to climb here but got scared off by the sea of homeless surrounding it. Will forever avoid Sacramento.
Dogs no longer allowed. Planned my day around climbing here since I'm in the area for the week and it's the closest touchstone gym, but I needed to be able to bring my dog to make it work. Showed up thinking I'd be able to tie him up while I work out (did it in the past) but that is no longer allowed here. Management, please be aware that a no-dogs-at-all policy may satisfy those few folks who do not like dogs, but it basically means your gym is no longer an option for folks who need to keep their dogs with them on these hot days.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Great route setting for all levels of climbers, both bouldering and top rope.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Great route setting for all levels of climbers, both bouldering and top rope. More than enough gym equipment, free classes for members, sauna, and the other climbers are fantastic people to be around to help push your limits!
This place is basically my second home. I don't know what I love more, the never ending options of different routes to climb or the entire climbing community and staff at that gym.
It's good here. Very easy to make friends, and everyone is trying their best. So happy to have this in town. A bit pricey.
Cons:
Not uncommon for the holds to spin
Sometimes the grading is radically inconsistent
Pros:
Excellent parking
Full service: towels, showers, weights, and massive loads of climbing
One of my favorite places to be in Sacramento! So much to do, great employees, and great patrons.
Love this gym! 40 ft lead and top rope routes, full weight/cardio area, yoga, CrossFit and one of the best bouldering areas I've ever seen! They have it all, in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere with a great staff. Recommend this place to everyone in the Sacramento area
Very fun for all ages if you like climb this is the number place in doors anywhere in Sacramento
Awesome gym with separate top-roping and bouldering areas. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Great for all ages!
Members of both the gym and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Great for all levels of climbing.
Best climbing gym I have ever been to; friendly, inexpensive and lots of variety. The gym offers bouldering (with top-outs), lead-climbing, a slack-line, weights, yoga, spinning, showers, sauna, a small store and more.
What a great place to climb. They have climbing opportunities for all levels of experience and are constantly re-configuring the gym. Every climb is a new experience. The staff and patrons are friendly and willing to help. I had a really great experience at this gym!
