Sacred Grounds reviews
15Espresso was very strong in a homey environment. Very fair prices. They roast their beans in house. And we were surrounded by writers and philosophers.
I want to like this local shop but I can't. Ordered a standard latte which had an awful burnt flavor. Took a few sips and threw it out. Won't return.: (
I can't believe I haven't been here for so long. It's a nice coffee joint where you can sit on the pot and get some work done.
Just Amazing! I ordered the veggie sandwich which was served with a delicious peanut coleslaw salad and the chai latte. All these for less than 9$. The prices are so competitive! They also have cookies. The ambiance reminds of The Last Bookstore. And the service was exceptionnally friendly. Nothing to do with a rudest service I got with the StarBuck yesterday. Everyone should go!
Tried the tropical tea and the chai tea, loved both. Greeted and served by the friendliest man working. Super cute little coffee shop, really felt like I had the local experience.
It's a funky little shop. Not fancy, inexpensive, roast their own coffee, simple danishes, sandwiches, and a few salads.
Not redecorated in forever.but that's why the local crowd appreciates what it is: home roasted coffee for cheap! Inexpensive grilled sandwiches, bagels, or fresh egg salad Sammie, my fave.
If you need chic decor and a pricier latté, head to Sirens.
I love good cheap value and customers who know each other, friendly vibe and half the typical cost.
Nice little place to go and grab some coffee and a danish or bagel. Everyone knows everyone there.
Coffee machine was last clean when new, espresso is the size of soup ball and the coffee is burnt, served in the paper cup. The dirtiness of the place did not bother me at all, but something to note. At least the walls were interesting for few minutes before we left without finishing our coffees.
Amazing location! SO convenient! + They have outdoor seating! Delicious sandwiches! Perfect for lunch!
Very unique place. Not the usual third wave coffee experience but great coffee nonetheless. Truly one of a kind coffee shop. Highly recommend!
Just visited recently and its great but I miss the old sacred grounds from back in 1998. They were located down the street in the corner, they had bands every Friday, usually happy punk bands, goth kids everywhere and there I was new to the country barely spoke any English I remember a man named Terry who was so nice to me since the beginning, his staff as well were very nice to me all the time. I stopped going there in 2003 I went away to college but definitely this was the place to go back then and for what I just saw its still is. Also of the staff reads this tell them to say Hi to Kira for me she used to work there, I almost asked her to marry me.
Perfect atmosphere and kind attention from Tracy and the crew every visit. The coffee is wonderful, and plenty of food or treats to match.
This is my goto place in San Pedro. Tracy makes the best entree salads you can get anywhere and at very reasonable prices. SG is funky in good way with an eclectic bunch of real characters who hang out here like a second home. The parking isn't great but, except for special events on 6th Street, I have always found a place within a block. This is one of the few places open late in San Pedro. There is art on the walls and a small take one leave one bookshelf. Negatives for me are the big screen TV (usually on MSNBC or a ball game) and the over loud live music once a week but I know these are positives for others. I should mention that I don't drink coffee but the tea, both hot and iced, is excellent.
Update: Due to low late night patronage (buyers not just sitters) they have reduced their hours and now close at 10pm Mon-Sat and 9pm on Sunday. This makes one less place in San Pefro for late night access to high speed internet.
A good local coffee shop with lots of character. People of "higher class" who look down on those experiencing homelessness will probably find some of the clientele not to their taste.
0 stars if I could. I honestly use to hang around here for the social atmosphere. Friends and I have been coming for 20 years and are still disrespected and treated as if we don't matter. Employees treat most people with a tinge of disregard and disrespect. All furniture is thrift shop salvaged (includes matching bedbugs) and is never really wiped down.
Out of all of the places between East and West coast to go this is by far the worst in terms of customer service, cleanliness and quality.
Also the employee Tracy is by far the rudest and worst person ever to buy a coffee from. He also lives in the shop.
Budbugs and transient baristas.
