Sadaf Restaurant reviews
13 I don’t recommend this place to anyone. I’ve worked here so all of this is coming from a full time employee. First off the first reason you shouldn’t come here is it’s INFESTED with RATS. I’ve had multiple times where rats have ran under my customers table without them noticing. I told the owner and they don’t care. Every day there are rats caught in traps in various places INSIDE the restaurant. The owner is skimming tips from their employees & is making 1 person do the job of server, busser, food prep, & host. They are slaving employees away. Don’t even get me started on the employees that don’t have work permits or papers. They’re taking advantage of all employees and treating them poorly. The food here is all nasty and old. The plates and silverware are from 14-15 years ago! They don’t even clean them
properly. You’re getting saliva from customers on the same forks and knives and spoons they use. They re use the same food for other customers and they never throw anything away. They are serving bad old food. This restaurant needs to go out of business. This is ran by 2 conservative old person people that do not care about their employees. This restaurant shouldn’t be standing. If the health department of San Diego would go inside and just do a check up they’d be closed. Their fire extinguishers are expired from 2010. This isn’t a restaurant. This is an unjust racist business that’s feeding Americans rotten food. The rats and safety hazards are just a cherry on top. Please do not support this restaurant if you have any morals.
The restaurant itself was so cold and humid, it had such a bad smell the moment we arrived!
ALL the dishes and glasses were not clean (look at the picture of my glass with lipstick mark on it).
The food itself was super ordinary, veryyyyy greasy, and was cold!
I love to give them more stars as an Iranian but it won’t be the truth. Their koobedeh was dry, chicken wasn’t juicy, mahicheh had a tomato’s taste and we had to order more rice since the portion wasn’t Iranian standard. I don’t provide the review to discredit any place rather than informing the consumers and owner to be informed. Cheers
Had a lentil soup with vegetables & spices.was wonderful. Also loved the tiramisu dessert.
Googled this place last night looking for some good Mediterranean food and glad i did! Staff was great and informative. Hummus was awesome and I ordered the filet kabob dish and my boyfriend ordered the trio filet dish both flame grilled and cooked perfectly med rare! Reasonably priced as well. We were both very happy with our dinner. It was Fresh and tasty! Definitely coming back.
Some of the best Persian food you can have in Gaslamp. Highly recommend and the owner/family is very polite.
We picked up food to go last night and the beef filet & chicken kabobs were the best we have had in San Diego. The filet was cooked perfectly and real tender. The chicken and rice was also cooked perfectly. I will recommend this place to all my friends and coworkers.
The food is good, the service is normal, the atmosphere could be better, and the location is great!
I eat Persian food all over southern Ca and I had one of the best kabob soltani at Sadaf.
Service was good and food portion was was just right. Over all I enjoyed it besides building is old and a little smelly but not too bad.

Great persian restaurant. You cant go wrong with anything you order. The chicken is nice and juicy. The beef is delicious as well.
Absolutely delicious, authentic Persian food. Friendly, professional service. Relaxed, kid-friendly atmosphere. We all had a great time.
This is the first Persian restaurant I have been to that doesn't have sumac shaker. The food was excellent and delicious but a bit pricy. No option to get a combo (beef and lamb. Or beef and chicken) but regardless the meal was extremely yummy! We got the hummus, the koobideh and the boneless lamb. The rice was mouthwatering and the meat was extremely flavorsome. Even if I tried my absolute hardest, I would never be able to replicate the tasty delectable food I ate here at this restaurant. Big thanks and Props to the chef!
