Great deals in vodka! The cashiers are nice and friendly. They also have a delicious bakery and sushi bar everyone should try. Try the pork buns!

It's a Safeway what can I say.it's quite a bit smaller then the one on mission and apparently they have a lot of theft issues there because it has tight security, which is a good thing. They have all the basics of Safeway the store is clean, convenient location.the back parking lot gets a little scary at.times tho, cause someone hit my car and ran from the scene. I know this because my car was not damaged when I went in to the store and when I came out it was. No one saw a thing. That's the only problem I've ever had there tho. I would say I go there about 1 or 2 times every 3 or 4 months.so not too often but that's as much as I can say. Sincerely Amanda Sims

Actually I'm in the hiring process at Safeway. I interviewed on a Friday morning. Late that afternoon I received a email from Safeway offering me a job in the produce department. I should be starting this week. Stoked. I guess the hiring process is more time consuming with a union involved. 2 weeks later, I still don't have a starting date? Being patient. The Morrissey store is the smallest Safeway store in Santa Cruz. Still carrying a large variety of products catering to your needs.

Awesome people I've got a dog and I take him in his stroller everybody loves him and I'm treated with respect and if I need help there's always someone there to help me you never have to go looking for someone to help

The aisles are really narrow, but it is an older, smaller store - they try to pack in as much as they can. The produce was good and the shelves were neat. Choices were limited compared to larger stores, but they seem to stock something of everything one might need. They have self-checkout kiosks and accept NFC payment. All the open checkout lines were 3 deep when I visited - maybe need more cashiers?

I give it 4 stars because you pretty much know what to expect at Safeway, although, every time I start loving something they replace it it's some new thing. They're cycling through products and apparently it's reason to switch that space on the shelf every time I start buying something there. Bah!

I had my two young children with me and needed milk and some lunch, so decide to stop here to kill two birds with one stone. It was between noon and 1p. I get to deli, wait in line for 15 minutes, ask for a sandwich and am told the sandwich shop is closed. No sign or anything. Like all Safeways, it seems, they are chronically understaffed. Stop supporting Safeway.

I really like the checkers here, they're helpful. The parking lot is a little bit slummy, but it feels safe nonetheless. I'm just a loyal Safeway girl these days.

Regular grocery, the shopping experience was not bad but would definitely go back if staff didn't lie about the restroom code

Safeway is always a good grocer to shop. They are expensive but usually have a good selection. I was on vacation so my choices were limited.

Staff is alright but they're getting a bit premature on their assumptions about people and quite likely will call police on you if you look a bit too nomadic.

I always hated the massive lines here in the morning. Just open a self checkout, please.

Never bothered me enough to leave a bad review until today, when the employees would not give me access to the bathroom after half peeing myself in the produce department. Safe to say I will never be shopping here again.

No fresh bagels or doughnuts in bakery case for the last three days. I drove to Lucky's for bagels. Usually I can buy strawberry topped cheesecake at Safeway. None here. Small older store that may not have the items you usually buy at a Safeway store.

Convenient location, small but I like it that way. Took my son to get his Covid-19 booster shot. Made an appt.online for the next day with no wait.

If you're local you know not to go to the Morrissey Safeway or the Safeway on mission unless you got a lot of time to spend in a line both these safe ways remind me of like going to the DMV or something terrible attitude problems from the employees rudeness probably because the management doesn' treat their employees well and everybody that works at Safeway has a bad attitude especially at Morrissey. I write a lot of posts in a lot of places I never give bad reviews unless they're deserved fair warning.

Absolutely ridiculous. Sick employee was working at the checkout stand. He was literally wiping his nose and touching the food we bought. Of course two days later my girlfriend is sick.

This Safeway isn’t the greatest. Needs to be bigger. But does have more of a selection compared to some of the bigger Safeways in this county. Not always the most friendly staff but ok
