Grocery Store Safeway reviews
19Store many times doesn't have a variety of products which can be annoying. Ex. Open Nature Yogurt went on sale and they only had 3 flavors for sale. Alamo store gets 5 stars.
I don't normally frequent Safeway for groceries, opting for my neighborhood store instead, but was rather impressed with what I saw. Clean, well stocked and amazingly - no lines. Prices, although inflated, were very competitive and assortment of fresh produce and meats were great. I plan to go back more frequently, in the near future.
This Safeway gets a bad rap as it is not as fancy as their sister store down the road in Alamo. I can't always find the exact product I'm looking for but mostly I walk out with what I need. I find it convenient, clean and the staff very nice and helpful.
This is the worst grocery store I’ve ever been to. When you walk in, it smells disgusting like rotting meat. The story is visibly dirty and I found food that expired in 2020…two years expired! Unacceptable experience especially being a main grocery store for older folks due to proximity to rossmore. Step it up, Safeway.
Just when I thought customer service, like chivalry, was dead, here comes "Jeff" helping customers find that long lost ingredient in their great grandmother's traditional family recipe. Ok, that's a stretch, but man! Jeff not only knew where every item I asked for was, off the top, he also was running around, well, limping actually, finding things for other customers! Although injured, he didn't stop helping people, and I think he really enjoyed it! He was pleasant and knowledgeable and totally "at your service". I was very impressed, and think he deserves a raise!
I live across the street in Rossmoor but drive 5 miles to either Alamo (recently remodeled & has roomy aisles), or Lafayette, rather than face the always busy & shorthanded checkouts here. I realize they all have staffing issues, but no self checkout, and even at night when there are few people shopping, I have had to wait because only one or two checkers with several people in each line, and no express line. Very frustrating if you stop for just 1 or 2 quick items. At Diablo Market I can barely get to the card reader before the checker is finished and have never waited for more than one person ahead of me. Checking out is a priority for them, apparently not at Safeway.
Safeway is good place too shop and Starbucks is in store too. And customer service in store. They had there rest room s work on in past.katherine meid. Fun too shop here too.
The employees at this store have a lot of patience and understanding, the clientele.not so much. The produce & meat section is limited at this location.
Often out of the basics, butter milk, etc. Especially if these items are on sale. One of the only Safeways around without a self check out station.
I work in Rossmoor and before i go home i do my grocery here almost everyday. It’s a good store but some of the workers show rude behavior towards me, specifically the tall oldman who takes the cart, it seems that he dislike my presence (maybe to others too). I hope he would change his ways or i may not do my grocery there anymore.
Update: He did it again! I don’t know what this guys problem is but surely he is really rude to me, he passed by me and as he turned his back from me he said something which i didn’t quite understand. And he got that angry look at me. This is unacceptable. Maybe he is so unhappy with his job. Sorry, i won’t ever do my grocery here again!
Great parking, great hours open to shop, join their club foe better prices, deals, and coupons
This is a small Safeway store but it mainly serves residents from Rossmoor. It's been updated since I last visited. It's clean and the staff is very nice.
The team at O'Reilly was extremely helpful. We were looking for tire chains and they didn't have our size. But they helped us call around to other local stores to find them.
Catering to the Rossmoor community means the shelves are not stocked well and certain things you can't get there. Not as many checkers as other Safeways. Always slow. I usually go to Alamo or Broadway Blvd.to shop.
This location has modern vibes and spacious feeling due to high ceiling and bright lighting. Typical Safeway experience - The usual NO nonsense grocery shopping. Join the club to get discounts and better savings.
It's a Safeway so the produce is decent, the store relatively clean and frankly, the thing that makes or breaks it is the people who work there. I went today to get a quick sandwich and the person at the deli was great. Friendly and fast. The check out was a bit mixed but I figured that Rita was having a busy day.
The food I have was good the sandwich the old man that works there behind the counter needs to open up be more friendly he was nice though
Worst Safeway I have ever been to, with the worst customer service I have experienced. A few weeks ago I asked a produce clerk where to find something and he completely ignored me. Didn't even look at me and did not respond in any way. I've asked this guy a question in the past and he responded very rudely that time. This was definitely the worst customer service I have ever come across.
This Safeway is at the gates to a giant elderly community and they refuse to stock quarters required for the residents to do their laundry. They say "go to the bank nextdoor" assuming that 100% of the elderly in our community are also unemployed!? What about people who still work and don't have bankers hours. How do they acquire change to do their laundry?
