Safeway, San Francisco CA

Parking is confusing to newcomers. Especially when a bigger sign is covering the safeway parking guidelines. But staff here are super friendly

One of my least favorite Safeway stores. It regularly has security problems. Can't find a shopping cart. I consistently can't find items I'm looking for. And, like all Safeways, getting the item that's supposed to be on sale often fails causing frustrating post-checkout receipt review and haggling with supervisors. It's a clean place though. Produce section is good. But I'll go elsewhere next time.

This particular Safeway @ 4th & King has a BEAUTIFUL produce and floral department. Today I picked up some lovely daffodils for only $2.99 and I am waiting for them to bloom, I will update with pictures as the bouquet progresses because they are absolutely gorgeous! The only thing I was disappointed in with the Safeway at 4th & King was that the Bakery did not carry Key Lime pie. Ever other Safeway bakery in the area, that I've been to recently has begun to carry Key Lime Pie and being a Florida girl who's visited Key West many times and knows a good Key Lime pie when she tastes one I'd have to say that I wouldn't believe that this Key Lime Pie was baked on the other side of the continental US because this is a hella good Key Lime Pie! My mouth is watering just writing this review and thinking about that sweet, tangy creamy smooth buttery graham crackery delicious pie! Safeway 4th & King would've gotten a five-star review if the bakery carried my key lime pie! I demand Bakery management to start producing this Stat!

Got a great deal on some crab legs during this visit. They even have this awesome hot Hormel chili with no beans I haven't seen in a year again. This is my favorite Safeway in San Francisco.

Obviously it's expensive but very convenient. I gave it 1 star because I've lived across the st for 10 years. I'm 26 year old women and when I was 13 one of the stockers would follow me around asking for my number whenever I wasn't with my mom we told the manager and he stopped the guy. Now there is a worker he bags the groceries and he follows me everywhere even to my checkout.why is this so normal?

I can't believe I paid $6 for 22 mins of parking just to look around for a bunch of stuff they didn't have (spinach, mint, peanut oil, bean sprouts, hummus, flax seeds). Thankfully they had carrots, although only organic and in massive bags. Safeway should be made illegal.

Very busy and crowded, however, it doesn't take very long to get in and out. The Security staff is very professional and courteous which helps a lot with shopping. Store is following covid protocols and is much cleaner inside and out compared to the Safeway store on Market. I did self checkout and a staff member cleaned right away, more than I can say for the self-checkout grumps at Market!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting this store. My experience was made excellent by one of your staff members called Santiago. He went above and beyond to help me with my services and had a smile on his face the entire time. He took extra care and attention with me that I have never experienced in any other store. Santiago will be the reason that I keep coming back to this store. His presence truly brightened my day. Thank you for the introduction to Bourbon Santiago, it is perfect to my taste!

I love my local Safeway, all the employees are kind and courteous. I always feel comfortable shopping there because I know I will be able to get what I need and even find things I didn't know I needed with the help of staff. The lovely lady that works at the customer service is always smiling and makes me smile back even when I'm having a hard day, so I love cashing my scratches here as well. There is a coinstar machine and they rent out router rooter carpet cleaners, there is a wells atm on site, and tons of parking.the greeter at the front is keeping all the carts and baskets sanitized which is nice to see during these uncertain times of covid. I recommend to all to stop by and check out the Embarcadero Safeway and see if you find a smile too.

I happen to like this safeway its not your regular out of the box store it has a really different feel than most safeways due to its lay out and location witch is the ground floor of a fairly new bldg it has indoor valadated parking and robot security patroling the place and super friendly staff i just really like the place

Because I seen one day how rude and unfair they were treating a homeless person do they have not stole nothing and being harassed as if they had but still bought something service is okay but poor manners and people skills

Akways great staff working there ir the ones who been there the longest and customer service always been good too.they have mostly everuthibg i am looking fir just goes for the sale itens otherwuse kind of expensive.things are different at each Safeway and what they carry or have available

Pandemic or no pandemic, black shoppers get hassled at this store. Latino-looking security guards follow black folk around then stand on top of them while checking out. Everyone else gets to shop in peace. Ive shopped at Safeway in the Castro on Market St and its a much pleasant experience.
