Safeway, Truckee CA

Ridiculous lines. I don't know why I ever try to go there. There were only 4 cashiers open and the lines were headed to the back of the store. And the self check line was no better. There were 18 people in line. There are other grocery stores in Truckee and they are nowhere as busy. I know because I walked out of Safeway and went elsewhere.

This is a fairly normal Safeway. When we were there the lines were all very long, but the self checkout lines were shorter. Just be aware that this may be the case during peak ski season!

I always stop by for food when come to Truckee. Today I purchased a cabbage at 1.29 per lb but the self checkout charged me at 1.79 per lb. The supervisor was kind enough to refund the difference, but didn't see him adjust the system. I will pay attention of the prices of the produce from now on.

I've never felt happier to just be in a Safeway. My wife and I were caught in the storm on New Year's Eve. We thought we might need to sleep in our car on the side of the road near Donner Pass. I bought boots and blankets here and there is a Tesla Supercharger in the back lot. It was a little safe haven for us after the most intense and stressful drive I've ever had.

They have everything you need. The remote location makes them the only place with many things. They know it and charge accordingly. 5 stars if budget is not a consideration.

People are friendly but everytime you go they are short staffed and the lines are down the aisles. Current, it's a Sunday at 12: 45 and we have been in line 30 minutes. We are still 5 back!

Thumbs up for Safeway as they worked on Thanksgiving, the employees were friendly and a big help to answer my questions.

Customer service there is horrible! I just called the store to ask a couple questions and when the woman answered my first question she hanged up the phone without asking if I needed anymore help she just hanged up the phone. She needs to learn how to do her job and respect people. She was very rude.

Lines can be long, but otherwise a great store. Continues to provide for our local community.

Came here for the Tesla Supercharger in the back. Picked up a few things for a weekend in the cabin. Not bad of a selection, considering the location. The checker was a nice fellow!

Bearded gentleman at self-checkout was awesome but he's gone now, the in-store Starbucks is poorly staffed.

This is our favorite grocery store in Truckee. Good selection. They are almost always busy when we go, even very late at night, so be prepared for a decent wait in line. I would score them 5 stars if they employed more checkers to shorten the lines, especially on holiday weekends and Friday nights.

Quick stop to complete our weekend shopping. Safeway had the items we needed and were on our way home!
