Safeway, Antioch CA

The senior hours are a joke. They allow everyone in regardless of their age and the senior citizens are stuck in a line that went all the way down an isle, so they are have to get to the store at sunrise to be with everyone else in the fight and be but in a long line to wait! Does this make sense to anyone!

Always has what I'm looking for, can be really busy sometimes with only 2 lines open so it's not really a fast stop most of the time

Why does Safeway have customers waiting over 10 minutes to do wire transfers and money orders. An employee taking lunch isn't a valid excuse for a store this size. Bad service isn't excusable.

One of the best Safeway is around very clean atmosphere everything's very organized fresh stuff at the deli everything you need and want and a good Safeway! I highly recommend going to the Safeway!

What I like: Fresh & organic choices, high quality meats, healthful options, nice selection of cheese and cured meats, fairly nice employees, clean & orderly, and a familiar and comfortable layout.

What I dislike. I have never personally had any issues being watched or followed. However, upon reviewing other claims I asked a friend of mine to do an experiment I had her go into the store to buy a few items. I watched her and noticed that some of the actions by security was not similar to my own experiences.

I understand that while Antioch my not be of the same socio-economic level as Walnut Creek or Brentwood and I know that all supermarkets must deal with product loss. But by doing this you alienate some customers and deprive them of knowing what Safeway is all about. I recognize that this treatment is not indicative of how Safeway views its patrons and it may be due to overzealous security guards using lazy standards to promote safety and reduce losses. However, I believe openness and honesty can help this Safeway rehabilitate its image therefore I implore them to look-inward and ameliorate this situation.

I'm just not impressed with particular safeway. They dont have enough cashiers and the selection isnt as good as the other Safeway stores in the area.

Everyone at this store has always been super nice and the ability to shop after hours is simply amazing.

We don't normally shop here because we've been here twice before during very busy times and the lines were about 10 people deep and they only had two cashiers.

We had a gift card, so we shopped here today. Place was plenty busy and the front end up was keeping up, so no problem there.

The place was clean and we found most of what we needed. They only had one ribeye steak, so we opted for a tri-tip.looks pretty good.

And, of course, they lived up to their reputation of high prices.

This Safeway almost the WORST checkout service, both cashier and self-service lines way too long and slow at any time of day. Also, restrooms always in disrepair. My rating rests on those two issues.

Usually I have a great experience with Safeway. The overall freshness and presentation of the Hot Foods, Chinese Section and Salad Bar is horrendous. Clearly not fresh with no attempt to even stir or refresh the product. Thumbs down Safeway.

BEWARE
Their baby food is always expired. I told store manager who works in pm shift (not Marcos) to remove expired baby food from the rack and he just walked away without doing anything. When I went there again after 3 days, expired food was still there. Pm shift Store manager is so rude and unprofessional.

Lines are always way to long. If you have 5-6 people per open line. It's time to open a few more.

No one staffed in floral department. Marcus the manager was no where to be found either. The produce guy John was nice enough to help out about 6 customers with balloons and flower arrangements but they where expectedly under par. Half an hour later nobody had shown up to help. This is my local Safeway, please get it together.

Store has really gone down hill, used to be a nice place to shop. It's like the people who work there dont care.

Our favorite local grocery in town although more expensive in pricing. We love their fresh french sourdough bread & multi grain loaves and they go fast!?

I went there to pick up a few things, the store was very clean the store personal were friendly and helpful Good experience.

Great selection. Well maintained to include the shelves appearing to be full. Also a friendly staff.

Had no carts located in the store and the self checkout lane was extremely slow and even had one terminal out of order on Christmas Eve.

Sweet Jesus.gotta love Antioch. When you walk into the bathroom and see an (employee?) lighting something in tinfoil with a tube in their mouth.

The cashier was telling everyone they were closing and i needed to get bread to go with the llunchmeat but she was not havin it so the lunch meat was put back
