Sakana Sushi Bar & Grill reviews
13Only 1 waitress as others mentioned. That said, it was a slow evening so service was pretty good! Very small place with only a few people running it, likely family owned. Prices were low, but the food we ordered was very good! Overall could not ask for more.
Lovely staff working here. Great food. It has a lot of sushi but some grilled and ramen options too as well as vegetarian options.
This place is and always has been the best sushi in the neighborhood. Real Japanese sushi, no frills and no weird American style rolls.
Staff has always been really friendly and chefs are aces! Fish always fresh and bright.
Update Nov 2022: Still serve high quality sushi at an affordable price. The service is attentive and helpful. This is a good place to go when you're craving sushi, but don't want to overspend.
Great sushi near Union Sq. This is my go to spot for sushi when I'm staying near Union Sq. It's a little small, so get here early if you want to dine in. Otherwise, you can do take out.
We got lucky last minute with a table for two. Service was pleasant and the food was O U T S T A N D I N G!
I had fried chicken (karage)
Prawn spring rolls, tuna bomb (sushi rolls) and salmon avocado roll.
The spring rolls was the prawn rolled in sprinroll wrapper, I was thinking something different but good.
Karage chicken was awesome, but I was under the weather to enjoy more fried food.
The tuna bomb was supposed to jave jalapeno in it, no spice at all but Japanese food is not chilli so I didn't mind and it still tasted great, alittle worries on the presentation thou as it came out looking like tinned tuna (I hate) which I would have returned but upon tasting the tuna bomb it was delicious.
Salmon avo is always a classic flavour and you can't go wrong. Yum yym yum.
Thanks for a great meal.
Amazing sushi and good service! The waitress is very polite. There is not much seating available but we came in just in time! The food quality is definitely worth the price.
The food was delicious!
Sashimi, nigiri and California were well prepared.
The service was quick, kind and smiling!
I will go back on occasion
What a wonderful sushi bar. Very relaxed music and incredibly kind and loving staff. They taught us Japanese and engaged us. The sushi was super fresh and prepared with much skill. Sadly, violent protestors had vandalized their establishment on several occasions. I highly suggest too come here for some sushi! Honestly, the prices were also really good.
Fantastic sushi! The Omakase was fresh, delicious, and so affordable. I've been to pricier and flashier places that didn't hold up to this quality taste. This will be my new go-to place whenever I'm in town.
Loved our dinner, service was kinda slow as it was a full house and only One waitress for all the tables, so keep that in mind.
As I walked in I waited around five minutes to be seated I chose the bar always nice seeing the chef in action, the food was exceptional. Every fish was cut to perfection fresh light and all you can ask for. All the food in the pics was around 100$ which is not bad at all!
On general the experience is good, as having been to Japan and tasting different sushi in many sushi bars and restaurants; i believe sushi were more American style and there was too much rice on Maki rolls. Overall it was quite good.
1 star for its service. My son and I went there for dinner during quiet hours. We sit on 4 person table and were told to
