Sam Lynn Ballpark reviews
17This field has allot of history. Piazza, Karros, Hersheiser, Valenzuela. You name it, when I was a kid (80s-90s) every Dodgers prospect and farm kid why through here. Even some big names at times, when they were rehabbing an injury, Gibson, Garvey, etc. If you're an L. A. Dodgers fan, this park would be, kinda like the Great Western Forum would be for Lakers fans. A piece of sports history for sure, and we're lucky enough to have it here in Bakersfield.
It was Halloween-town at Sam Lynn Ballpark me and my husband took my grandson. He had a blast.
Looked into this field a little bit, used to be home to the high-A minor league affiliate of most recently the Mariners and then even the Reds. Looks like now it hosts Independent League games for the Bakersfield Train Robbers. There is an outdoor batting cage out front which is closed on Sundays. Would love to catch a game at this vintage looking ballpark and see it more lively than we got to see.
Went to this field growing up and hope a team can thrive like it did when mike piazza and eric karos. And then they went from Bakersfield Dodgers to Los Angeles Dodgers.
Not a place to go my brother Stanley Evans was murdered near there and the killer is still out there if you have any information please contact the police department
It's a great ball park for young kids to develop their baseball skills before they get into High School or maybe even College baseball players
It is a well trafficked area and needs to be refurbished. Bleachers are fair condition but very dated. Many pot holes in parking areas, gopher holes around the stands-bleachers, Condition of facilities: fair to poor overall.
Nice place to hold events! Bathroom s are way to far away! Need portable toilet should work!
The men rest room was filthy. Concession was very limited in what they offer. The ball field could of been in better condition.
Always fun. Friendly and helpful staff. Sometimes the machines breakdown and will often throw blanks. But otherwise, it's a good pastime and fun for the kids.
Nice place enjoy watching my grandson play ball. Starting to see more holes they need to fill in tho.
Sam Lynn Ballpark is nicer then I remembered it being. Lots of games going on all at the same time and plenty of space for everyone to spread out to watch the kids play ball. The snack booth had nice people dishing out the grub. All in all I was so pleased to go watch my roommates daughter play ball again.
Nice going outside and watching the family play ball. A great time for all. I get some exercise also. There are 2 players at different sides of the area.
It is very disappointing that the County has allowed this 80 year old icon to fall in such disrepair. Officials should be ashamed.
Great for what it is. If you don't like dirt, don't bother going out there.
Thanks for hosting youth baseball leagues!
My brother & I both, as well as many of my cousins, grew up playing ball here back when it was JBA & still enjoy my time here watching my nieces & nephews play now under the new name Northwest Baseball. So glad it's batting cage season! Perfect to get rid of some of that excess stress & pent up aggression! Lol!
Now attending Great nephew's games. It was always funny to go to the Baseball Game there.
