Samesun Venice Beach

It has a place downstairs with super loud music until 2 in the morning. The whole room vibrates and it is impossible to sleep.

It is more profitable to pay more and sleep better than less and make it seem like you are inside a nightclub.

Amazing place staff was awesome and helpful! Great place to meet other people and find cool activities to do together! This was my best hostel experience by far would definitely stay again

I had a short trip to LA and Samesun Venice was perfect for me. It is located right at the beach and is surrounded by fun places and eateries.

The ocean view from my room is nice and also the view from the lounge is great too. The bed was comfortable and clean. The shower was big and the hot water was great! The quality of their free shampoo, conditioner and body soap was not bad. I had a long thick hair but their shampoo and conditioner worked for my untamed hair:)

The service was also fabulous. Gus and Heather are friendly and kind. We could trust that they would do their best to accommodate what we need if they could.

I would definitely come back to stay here when I come back to LA.

The staff were really nice and kind, all very nice guys. Good location, but not very safe. Structure a little dated and could improve in cleanliness (or reduce the price)

Stayed in a private room with shared bathroom. Private rooms did have a sink in the room which was nice. Room was relatively tidy and clean, what you expect from a hostel in this price range. Location on Venice beach was absolutely perfect!

The location is great, the hostel it self does need a renovation tho. The Samesun hostels in SD and SF are in far better shape. It does the job tho.

Staff was lame. Paid for 3 nights and the dude who was supposed to help me was extremely rude. I came in at night and was looking for a place to stay, but he straight up denied even though I paid. So just lost $40. Basically never come here. It makes 100x more sense to book in a cheap hotel by the airport. More expensive sure but why would you want to stay in a crowded hostel with all these people? Doesn’t make any sense, especially with how small the room is. 100% don’t recommend. It’s about $70 more to get a real hotel but honestly it’s 100% worth it compared to staying at this dump.parts of LA are genuinely beautiful. This is not it. Stay far away from here. Just horrible. Not to mention that the area is filled with drunks, Drug addicts, and insane homeless people. Just completely filthy and disgusting. Seriously. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Excellent place to stay right on Venice beach. The only thing is to enter the hostel you have to go up a flight of stairs which is right at the door

As soon as you walk out, you can see the beach! Got a nice lounge, only con is it doesn’t have elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage

The best thing is the location, the small but very well decorated central hall. Nice breakfast.

My camera and other electronics were STOLEN from a locker inside the room with a lock on, went to tell the staff if I could check the cameras and he said "you need a police warrant for that, next please", he then told me I probably had it somewhere else.the worst hostel ever

The location is fantastic.
Unfortunately the service and cleaning are not in line with the amount charged.
The beds are uncomfortable and the noise from the bars is exaggerated and doesn't allow us to sleep until 2am.

When I called to find out if there was availability, the manager asked me many very personal questions, what was my name and I don't know what else. Obviously I didn't want to talk on the phone, it made me very arrogant, I arrived at the place because it was the most “economical”, it wasn't AT ALL economical but it was the one I could do for that night. I didn't like that part of the attention. It was strange. Then they asked me for a flight or trip back to my country super bad for me. They do it in every SameSun. I don't like it, what do I have to show them what I will do in my private life. I don't like.
I didn't like breakfast. It's all very plastic, it's nothing prepared there but food in packets, it's very thick bread and it wasn't very tasty.
Because of the location, it is a good place since you are in Venice, but.there is nothing to see except the beach. If it had been Santa Monica, maybe. But anyway, the part where they ask for a flight back to your country to extend your stay is so retrograde. I don't understand why they do it. It was very annoying to see this if they are not a customs office. And the questions they asked me on the phone were unprofessional. It is much better than other Hostels but for these reasons I did not like that situation and the price at all. And the breakfast is expensive.

$35 a night includes breakfast, and the room is large, clean, comfortable, and a great value.

Best place and price in venice. Eggs for the breakfast would be good, that's the missing Star.

I stayed for 3 nights in a private room over a long weekend. I was mostly looking for a place to crash that was clean, convenient, and comfortable, which was somewhat the case. The location is unbeatable and the staff was friendly. HOWEVER, this hostel is above a club, which is LOUD and open until 2am Wednesday-Saturday. Not only could I hear the beats and DJ shouting from the bar, but furniture in my room was shaking until 2am. They provide earplugs but it does very little. Breakfast then starts at 7: 30am and you can hear preparation in the kitchen and guests in the hall. The first night, the cleaning staff also began at 3: 30am-WHY? A private room beachside in LA is expensive, so I understand expectations should be low, but for ~$200/night, I'd expect to sleep, since I was not in the room all day.

In general, sleeping in LA is very expensive and this is a cheaper option, located in a very favorable sector.
The service and the rooms are not the best, but they are good for the price.

Scum of the earth hostel rude and miserable front desk put my grimace birthday meal in the kitchen fridge came back late and the sucker working said I can’t warm up my food! Foo this guys lucky we didn’t total him

The best hostel I was able to stay in on my 2.5 month trip.

I stayed there the 14th October for 4 days great location great staff and perfect location if you like Venice beach style of life! Staff friend and helpful highly recommended
