Samovar Tea Lounge, Yerba Buena Gardens reviews
18I have worked here twice for a private party and the staff and managers are some of the most professional individuals i have ever worked with.
Samovar is a hidden gem above the Yerba Buena center. It has a beautiful view and the inside is elegant and modern. Try to call ahead for sitting since it quickly fills up and you want to be sitting inside during the cold weather. They have various teas and the staff will be happy to explain the different teas and how they taste. In case you are hungry they also have small bites and wine to finish it off.
Food for rabbits! Hated the menu selection there. I guess if you are into the vegan, tea hoohah dude hanging scene maybe this is the place. Not for me! Had a great waiter service but the food was dissapointing to me. Cesar salad with anchovies dressing and some grass thing that looked like shreded green paper.
The ginger quinoa waffle is the bomb but that's about it and the staff is very rude left this place angry and wanting to never come back. People like this do not deserve our Business
So tasty. Great location. Especially love the sweet potato dumplings and the Chinese tea service.
Wide selection of delicious teas! Perfect for a leisurely chat. You can get any of their blends to take home too. They serve food as well, but we didn't order any.
Tea oriented drinks for happy hour, sample platter is good but otherwise lack of choices.
Great service and view though.
Had to send back the Yuzu Dynasty (pictured), Check Citrus Cloud and Hibiscus drinks are much better.
Amazing vibe. This place resonates calmness. It has outside and inside seating. Lots of tea options on the menu. Loved the background music. Service was fast.
Beautiful gardens surround the patio and the service was great. I don't think they serve hard alcohol so the cocktails are on the lighter side.
Smoked Duck and Egg Tea Soup Rice Bowl was one of the finest things I have consumed. Scones and Devonshire Cream rank up there as well!
Delicious tea. If sharing a pot, might want to order more than one. Or two. But, if everyone orders their own, you can get 3-4 cups out of a single pot.
Nice view and good service. Food was ok. Their chia coconut dessert was the highlight. Probably, the place is best for tea + dessert. Would I come back? Maybe.
It's hard to decide what the selling point of Samovar is - the view or the tea selection. Or the wine menu. Or the food. I was there on a sunny May 4. Had a sparking wine with the cheese plate (called Sharing Plate on the menu), and then tea. It all added up to a perfect afternoon. Great staff, and that cheese plate with fresh honey, chicken salad (yes!), olives, two kinds of cheese, crostini, and dates, was really outstanding. Spending sunny days at Samovar won't disappoint.
Very popular spot, even on weekends, but not super crowded. $$+ The dishes are prepared w great care and they encourage shared plates. Try the mochi with a different twist for dessert. You wont regret it! All staff is very attentive w an international flare.
Great selection, tasty food & tea, beautiful view, friendly service, and overall great experience.
Yummy sandwiches amd tea. Really nice spot to stop for a bite on a nice day and sit outside. A bit expensive for what you get but appropriate for the quality I think.
One of my favorite places to eat in the city. Good, clean, healthy simple food and teas. My favorites are the masala chai tea and the smoked salmon with poached eggs and brown rice.
Decent tea menu and great for some gal time. Limited inside seatings and outside seatings can be a lot windy. I'd recommend making your reservations.
