Museum Sam's Castle reviews
6The tour of the castle was excellent. A man and wife played the part of the original owners in costume and told the history beautifully with the help of other staff members who were all very kind, enthusiastic and passionate about the history of the castle and the families that owned it as well as the city of Pacifica itself. My wife and I recommend it highly.
My grandparents moved to the bay area from West Virginia in the 50's for better opprotunities. They lived in a small apartment in the Mission district while they worked and saved money for a down payment on a house. Once they acquired enough for a small down payment, they looked for homes to buy in Pacifica. Apparently this castle was up for sale during that time. I believe it was $36,000 that my grandma told me they were selling it for. Her and my grandpa contemplated purchasing it, but it wasn't as affordable as the $12,000 they ended up spending on their home on Manor drive.
Pretty cool although I got here at the crack of dawn so it's closed but nonetheless pretty cool. Gotta make it inside next time
If the drive up the main road makes one uncomfortable bcuz of the steep uphill inclined. There is a alternative route. Look at Vallejo Terrance and San Pablo route
Interesting if you can find it. I never went in and there's a big wall around it but it was cool and the views are spectacular
It is much better if you don't take Mirador since it's a steep incline with many potholes. Instead go left on Mirador and right on Carmel and right on Vallejo Terrace, right on San Pablo Terrace, and you end up right there. Great place with incredible views.
