San Agus Cocina Urbana & Cocktails reviews
14Nice little spot, I got to enjoy the happy hour. Pozole was good, Shrimp Ceviche Tostadas were very nice, had the Birria Fries which were good + the Horchata was VERY tasty! Also, it has a bar + outdoor seating. The server was really cool, too.her name is Paola. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.
They have sotol cocktail. I got the spirit forward one. It's dark and and it's good. Worth a try.
The restaurant is bright and clean. Happy hour menu looks like a good deal.
Try to get there before 10: 30pm on weekends if you want a drink late night. They close early if it's not busy.
Not standard Mexican.at all! This is Mexican Cuisine at it's finest! Original dishes, spectacularly prepared to perfection, every-single-time! I was delighted to go here tonight. The service was exemplary from all, fast and Isidro who checked on us a few times was very kind. The food was really great. I was surprised how good it was including my cocktail. Many of the dishes were a unique take on traditional dishes without starting too far from what people know and love. Would 100% be coming back here.
Poor & extremely slow service, even as the restaurant went from busy to half-full. Had to ask for water several times to get a refill; requested pitchers of water multiple times and never received them. The space is very loud and portions are very small for the price. Only reason this is 2 stars and not 1 star is because the food tasted good.but it was hilariously little food for any given item.
Food was good and not bad. The price you pay however compared to what you receive isn’t worth it. I feel because of the location it’s basically boujee Mexican food for that area. Probably won’t go back and can buy a full meal for that price at a Mexican taqueria in different area.
This place is a local fave. The drinks are creative and delicious. Food is fantastic- have brought coworkers and friends alike here and it's become a fave for them too. They also switch up the drink menu every couple months or so, so it's refreshing to come back and see something new!
Comfy place to go for delicious tacos. Amazing cocktails. It’s a little loud because the sound bounces off all the surfaces but it’s such a delicious place. Often get full fast but they move tables quickly.
I really liked their tacos! They may not be the most authentic, but the taste was great and it was really fresh. Highly recommend their al pastor, fish, and shrimp taco. The tacos were definitely on the pricier side at $14 for 2 tacos.
I was not a big fan of their gorditas de chicharron. The outside fritter was quite dry and the dish lacked flavor. Even the sauce it came with was not that good.
Their drinks were also pretty good, I like that they gave a piece of watermelon for their watermelon margarita.
Very happy and efficient service. Great margaritas. In retrospect, I didn't eat anything which would have been a better idea. Recommend for Happy hours and casual catch-ups.
Excellent local mexican urban food, I recommend the spicy margarita (not on the menu but you can ask) and the tacos al pastor, tacos come in pair but you can ask for 3 of the sale kind without problems.
Being downtown Palo Alto, the outdoor sitting area is very close to the road, beware of the boise and traffic. They have an indoor sitting area and a bar as well.
Original Mexican food, excellent taste and great preparation. When in Stanford, I will return for sure.
Great spot with amazing Carnitas and Pastor Tacos!
Agua de Jamaica (hibiscus) was really good and not overly sweet
The food is hit & miss. Some of the tacos have nice flavor but their nachos will have stale chips and/or flavorless carne asada (like, can’t taste any flavor when trying an individual steak piece). The service as also hit & miss. Once had a good person helping us & another time the person was terrible, nice but waiting tables is not for them. One thing that is consistent are their drinks are usually pretty good, on the weaker side but good.
We went in as a group of 8 on Friday and sat outside (reservation via OpenTable). The seats felt kind of uncomfortable since they barely had any cushion. The drinks looked great and tasted even better, and all of us liked what they ordered. I tried the Tamarind drink and a Margarita, and it both were pretty refreshing. The tortilla chips came with a tasty green drip. I ordered Al Pastor Tacos and a mushroom truffle Quesadilla. The Tacos were loaded, and although I expected the Al Pastor to be crispier, it still tasted good. The Quesadilla however tasted a bit bland for my taste and I wish that it had more flavor. There was some confusion with our order as they brought an extra cheese Quesadilla which we didn't order. Also, we had to ask for water about 3-4 times over a 45 min period before someone brought it out. The overall experience was nice.
