San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge reviews
15Small but well rounded set of exhibits. Check out the touch tanks and raptor area. They have a bald!
We are not sure if it was because of the time of the year (end of November) that we hardly find any bird. Commonly found everywhere birds like sparrows, crackles, blackbirds, western starlings can be seen and heard.
The fish and turtle tanks appeared to be less than clean. Also, it was pretty sad actually, to see the beautiful raptors in such small enclosures that aren't really well maintained at all. All the surroundings and walkways could use maintenance and cleaning up as well. Don't think we will be coming back.
Nice exhibits and some paths for walking. Employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. Great views.
Great for the family. They have lots of interactive stations and diverse wildlife. I love that they have a private entrance for their shuttle only. It shows their commitment to keeping the reserve pristine
Scenic trails and fresh air. Really close to many shops so it's an outing for a relaxing time and some eats afterwards
Nice views and good place for a walk but its all on paved paths and the actual preserve is fenced off, there are much better places to go see nature not too far from the area
We loved seeing all of the wild life. One of our favorites was a stingray that loved people. Overall this was a very fun place to visit.
We were unable to access this refuge, and no information available as to why we couldn't. Called and had to leave a message, but no return call.
Would have loved to walk around and see the visitors' center.
Affordable price awesome hawks and even a bald eagle. Good attraction in a small area leaves time for another activity in the same day.
We love this aquarium. There are lots of thing to do and a beautiful walk that lids to the beach
Kind of small, but good for kids. Military discount. Disabled vehicles can park at the center as opposed to taking the shuttle bus.
The refuge was a great educational spot. The volunteers were very knowledgeable about the animals in the sanctuary.
It would be nice to get up close with the animals and feed them by hand as in some cases that is the only way that they will take food. I do understand the legality of that statement.
All in all it is a great place to visit and learn about wildlife.
Has good shade while you wait in line usually have to enter from the east entrance from the street. Very friendly staff.
Love the Sea Turtles the parrots the fish. Love the Bat Ray with its smiling face. Always follows me and splashes. So much fun to touch the sting rays and sharks. Great walking path. Free Shuttle. Open Thursday to Sunday 10am to 5. Have household membership
