I come here to study. They have study rooms that you can reserve (same day) for up to 2 hours. It is spacious and clean. With plenty of plug ins for your phone or computer.

Better than the old library but still way too loud for my liking. Can hear people talking all over the building, maybe being quiet at libraries is a thing of the past. They have three study rooms (one is unavailable for the month of July) but they are usually occupied, first come first served.

It's a new library. There's plenty of books. A clean and spacious, very organized. I love that there's plenty of parking here too. It's close to everything. The next building is the Lakeside police station, gas station, and restaurant. There's plenty of store close to the library.

I am so excited this library is finally open! San Diego County has a bad habit of not prioritizing libraries and that is a huge shame, but I am so grateful that they have invested in this new branch. It is extremely aesthetically pleasing and has a lot of community space which I hope Lakeside will take advantage of.

The new library is pretty, but they only offer self checkout. To me, it’s a huge negative for San Diego library’s to transition away from actual human interaction and checking out with a librarian, to making patrons do it themselves. It removes an opportunity to connect with a person and discuss the books you’re checking out and other recommendations they may have. Having small children, library checkout is also a great opportunity for them to learn to communicate with other adults. All of that is taken away when library decides to replace community interaction with machines.

Kiss it Goodbye. I love taking little ones here where we can get books, take walks at the lake, and visit the playgrounds. Now we will have to risk our lives walking on the busiest streets in Lakeside with no sidewalks if we want to visit the library. And driving there is very unappealing, as anyone who has ever buckled a toddler into a car seat would know. The county has made a huge mistake in not locating the library at the Lindo Lake site. It's a dis-service to the Lakeside youth and literacy.

We were charged $20 for a book they claim was ruined because it was dirty. The pictures speak for themselves. This book was not ruined.

First off I want to say me and my kids LOVED this library. We come here often and have checked out over 100 books over the last few months.

A fair warning to anyone with kids borrowing books. They will charge you if you if you get any size scuff anywhere on a book. I don't feel like their claim was even remotely justifiable. The lady working at the front had to point out what she meant. I'm pretty sure the huge fat stamp they stick on the book is bigger than the smudge they're talking about.

I also don't understand why they charged us for ruining the book when the smudge was on the cover, nowhere near any words you read. Not ruined at all.

I'd like to say, we come to the library because we can borrow free books. We aren't made of money, so charging $20 for a small smudge seems ridiculous.

Lakeside library: you've caused a mom of little kids to not want to come and borrow your treasure filled shelves out of fear of being charged for every book we borrow. I understand there was a tiny smudge but I don't agree with your judgement. For all I know it got scuffed while going through your book drop or a previous borrower. We're sad because we truly loved coming here and now we won't.

So I'm sad to not be giving this place a 5 star review.if we had returned our books anywhere else this wouldn't have happened.
