I am so glad to be a patient of Dr. Lee. He has been a courteous doctor, listening to my concerns, and repeatedly helping me continue to do one of the things I love most - walking my dog daily, extended distances. My feet are happy, as am I, thanks Doc.

Completely shocked by the rudeness of the clinic manager, who was so bad at interfacing with patients she managed to bring my wife to tears before she even had the chance to see her doctor. The way my wife was treated was unprofessional and extremely disappointing on many levels. I'd like to think that San Diego Podiatry Group would hold its staff to higher standards. I advise patients to look elsewhere for their care.

EDIT 11/7 (RESPONSE TO OWNER RESPONSE, COPIED BELOW) : Your response to this review just goes to further show how you gaslight and disrespect your patients. My wife has no problem wearing a mask. She requested a mask from the waiting room threshold before entering to respect the sign on the door. She asked to have a conversation about the $1 cost (not the mask requirement), since she was worried that the lack of communication regarding your abnormal policy to charge for a mask was a red flag.

When she attempted to communicate her concerns, she was met with hostility. She repeatedly noted that the charge was not the concern, but that communication was important to her in a new doctor/patient relationship. During this conversation, your manager yelled at her to the point where she was visibly shaking (as noted by the receptionists, one of whom handed her a tissue). Your manager repeatedly admonished my wife about communication being a two-way street while not letting my wife talk, eventually telling my wife to leave if she was going to cry.

As a side note, the primary focus of your manager’s yelling and something flagged in your response was the reminder voicemail, which you state emphasizes the aforementioned policy of concern. Here is a transcript of the full voicemail: “An appointment is scheduled for [name] on [day] at [time]. Please press 1 to confirm that you will attend this appointment or press 2 to request rescheduling. ”

I’d like to re-emphasize that my wife and I are pro-mask. I am a physician and have placed central lines and performed chest compressions on patients dying of COVID in the intensive care unit. I understand that working in healthcare is a demanding job and the pace of clinic can lead to stress and burnout. However, this is no excuse for such hostility towards your patients. Your clinic manager’s ego prevented someone from receiving healthcare today.

***OWNER RESPONSE DATED 11/7***
Nathan, your wife came in without a mask. It is still currently the policy of this office (and most medical establishments), that everyone wears masks. This policy is emphasized when you make the appointment and when you receive a reminder call. We offered for your wife to purchase a mask for $1, and this inexplicably brought her to tears for what she labeled a "hidden fee". At no point was our manager rude or unprofessional, and that was reinforced by the other patients in the waiting room observing the interaction. We do hold ourselves to high standards, and respect goes both ways.

The audacity of this place! They call us at like 740 to tell us that our 840 appointment needs to be rescheduled for 9am. I took off work to get here and unlike that "doctor", me missing work is the difference between being able to eat and afford rent. So I go there AT NINE and we walk in and the lady at the front said tht the doctors supposed emergency is going to last until 10.15. So now we are just walking around, wasting time, not getting paid while we wait for the doctor to show up. They also had the audacity to charge us a dollar for masks. It' s 2022, masks are like 10 cents each. Provide them for free ESPECIALLY IF YOURE GOING TO DELAY AN APPT BY AN HOUR FIFTEEN AND NOT TELL ANYONE. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Edit, once I got back in there, the receptionist walked "oh I thought you canceled. " I NEVER SAID I WAS CANCELING, IM NOT EVEN THE PATIENT. Dont know where she got that indication. How does one place manage to hire such awful, incompetent staff? Ended up waiting an extra 30 minutes before being seen.

I purchased 2 sets of orthotics from San Diego Podiatry group. After having issues with the orthotics Dr. Rice determined they were made incorrectly and she was going to have them remade. They remade the 1st pair but will not remake the second pair or refund me my money for the 2nd pair I paid for. The office staff is consistently rude and unfriendly. I have left messages requesting for the dr to speak with me but have gone responded to

They tout themselves as specialist yet can’t even input the coding for billing correctly.worst experience of my life, they can’t be trusted, just trying to make a buck off of you while recommending extra purchases without any reasoning and after questioning them, The responses are inconsistent at best! While wasting month of my life for literally nothing. Literally I still ended up with no help no solutions no diagnoses, Will never go back and suggest you never go and waste your time! Save yourself find somewhere else!

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Ryan Lee. Extremely invalidating and arrogant. I came in with an ankle injury, and I specifically told him I get ankle injuries often but this was way more severe. He met me for less than 5 minutes and made it seem like its nothing and I am exaggerating it, I had to push him to get me physical therapy sessions. After a month of no improvement I switched to Dr. Walter Jolly who requested an MRI (which is the normal thing if the patient is telling you their pain is 10 on a scale from one to ten), I found out I have a severe ankle bone bruise, an inflamed achilles tendon and partial tear in the peroneal tendon. I could have been sidelined for months if I listened to the so called doctor Lee. Front office was not much better either. Very unfriendly and obviously they don’t really wanna work there. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Absolutely terrible communication and service, and VERY rude attitude from the receptionist. Was turned away from a 4: 30 new patient appointment for arriving at 4: 18 and having all paperwork done at 4: 32. I was told i was dismissed for not showing up at 4 to start the paperwork. I was told to TRY AND COME 30 minutes before when i scheduled the appointment. If coming past 4 meant that i wouldnt be seen, why not tell me my appointment is at 4? I arrived plenty early and completed all paperwork. Because of work i need to wait another week in pain to be seen. Absolutely ridiculous, 0 stars if possible. Thanks for nothing

Update per Response: You should make it clear that showing up later than 30 minutes early for your initial appointment WILL result in not being seen. My appointment time was until 5 and there was no reason i shouldnt have been seen. There was no call to see if i was coming or anything documenting i absolutely would not be seen and would be wasting my time by only showing up 12 minutes early instead of 30 minutes. That absolutely needs to be made clear before people take time off work to come in and be turned away. It seems as if the Dr was looking for any excuse to get out early for the surgery. I see another review very similar, seems to be an issue here.

After I was waiting in the waiting room for 10 minutes, I was told the doctor couldn't see me because I was two minutes late. This was verified by the time stamp on my receipt. She doesn't value the time that I spent waiting for her in the waiting room prior to them telling me she needed to cancel for a meeting. I will not be returning to a doctor that schedules appointments so close that when she is running behind, she cancels. I'm looking for a thorough doctor who is reliable.

I booked an appointment to measure my feet and order the insoles for my flat foot.before my appointment, I asked if:

1- my insurance would cover it
2- there is enough time to measure my feet and order insoles

they said yes to both

at the appointment day, doctor visited me, and said there is no time to measure and order insole and I need to come back again later.the secretory also mentioned, it is not covered by my insurance.after two weeks, I received an invoice of $160. I called them several times, they said they will contact me, no one did! And I finally I received a letter from debt collector!

not acceptable at all!

Dr Rice is the best. Front office staff could be a bit more knowledgeable and helpful. I recommend this practice without reservation. I always look forward to this doctor’s appointment

These people never called, never returned my appointment request, never answered their phone nor replied to their email. How do you expect to have customers if you don’t even answer or give appointments after submitting a request form. I would give you zero stars if I could. I went with South Bay podiatrist MUCH BETTER SERVICE AND CARE FOR NEW PATIENTS.

The front office staff were kind and welcoming. They answered all of my questions and were able to get me an appointment the same day I called! Dr. Lee provided excellent ccare and eased my nerves. I left feeling so much better.
