San Diego Sandwich Co

We really like the sandwiches at San Diego Sandwich Company. They've been in the community a long time, and I've been here 19 years, so I've been a time or two. I love their chicken salad sandwich with honey mustard. It's delicious! The toppings here are very thinly sliced so your sandwich is going to be mostly meat, not the tomato and onion, which matters to me when I'm paying over $25 for two people to eat a regular sized sandwich, chips, and drink. I also like their turkey sandwich with cheese, avocado, and bacon. It's actually not on their menu, so you have to add an ingredient to one of several turkey sandwiches available, but a great sandwich. My other half loves the egg salad sandwich on white bread, a real classic!

I've eaten here about three or more times and have decided I will not be back. Not having a public restroom in California is illegal and gets them one stars. Their sandwiches are mid at best. The spicy chicken sandwich tasted like the chicken was "marinated" in cheap hot sauce about three days prior and left to sit. I'm all for supporting local businesses but this place feels like a deli in the back of Safeway.

First time eating here and it was excellent! My favorite shop was closed today and I was craving a sandwich and found this place, safe to say I got a new favorite spot. The people there we super friendly and those chocolate cookies are no joke! Honestly felt as if it was a my grandparent making me a sandwich, loved the vibe and the sandwich. I give it a 100/10 for sure.

Sandwich was mediocre/okay.

But probably will not go back. Had a super unwelcoming atmosphere. There are 2 huge signs that says “NO PUBLIC RESTROOM PLEASE DONT ASK”. If you can’t even have the customer service to answer a simple yes or no question then sure I won’t ask and while I’m at it I just won’t come back to your stupid restaurant.

That and also I asked for a large paper cup to fill with water and they wouldn’t give me one. Only a small water cup, so they made me pay for a large cup just to fill it with tap water.

Your sandwiches are mediocre at best so why would I put up with your BS service. Good luck staying in business. I don’t think it’s the staffs fault. I think it’s whatever jack*$s upper management person put up the no restroom please don’t ask signs.

Great sandwiches! I work in Kearny mesa a couple times a month and always get excited about my lunch on the days:)

Best sandwich in a two mile radius. Meatloaf sandwich is my favorite option. Order it almost every time

Great staff and great sandwiches. The woman who owns the business is always there working her her team. Love that!

The sandwich wasn't too bad, I'm all for supporting local businesses but their prices were a little high so I probably won't visit too often.

Should probably tell customers if they’ll have to wait over an hour for a sandwich! Pretty ridiculous.

So friendly I had to review. Walked in and ordered for the first time, so I am unfamiliar with the menu. The woman taking my order helped me through the menu and read off all my toping choices without making me feel rushed. After completing the order she took care of a police officer and gave him a free drink, it was nice to see them taking care of the community members like that. Ordered a number 49 on sourdough and was pleased with the quality of chicken and bread. Will come back for lunch again!

Old school deli. Large sandwiches, quality ingredients and friendly staff. For a great version of some classic sandwiches this one is a can't miss. Only knock was that mayo was light on the BLT, but they do use a extremely generous portion of bacon, so that might have led to the dry appearance.

My fave spot for a fresh and filling sandwich! So many good things for me to say, the corned beef is awesome, love that there is sourdough, and the BLT is nice and toasty. Never had a dry sandwich, and there's no shortage of toppings! Thanks Cynthia and gang, I'll keep being a frequent customer and can't wait to try the chili!

Could have easily been 5 stars. Good size sandwich, didn't take too long, especially considering it was lunch rush on a Friday. However.the line is really weird, maybe rearrange the layout. The call out your sandwich number, not your name or any other way of identifying that is YOUR order, rather than some one else who ordered the same thing. Next.do you want to add Avocado? No, I do not. Yet there it is all over my sandwich. I DO want mayo, which never got added to the order for some reason. But otherwise good food, tasty and fresh.

I ordered a basic Roast Beef sandwich. Asked for mustard and mayo, but got very little of either. A small piece of tomato with some lettuce. An underwhelming sandwich and it was almost $12.00! The staff was nice, but their prices are ridiculous. Not going back there again -

I absolutely love this place. Such an absolute gem of an owner. The #27 is such a great Italian sub!

This deli is a gem. I've been working in the area and have been able to stop by quite a bit.

I usually get the turkey on a white French roll. It's a nice-sized sandwich that tastes REALLY good.

I forget exactly how long these folks have been in business but I want to say it was 40+ years. They make fantastic traditional sandwiches with high quality ingredients. Laid back environment with friendly staff. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in their neck of the woods.

Never had a hot sub this cold, chese wasn't even melted also 21 bucks for a regular sub and a bowl of soup, that's what i get for listening to people.
