San Dieguito Park reviews
15 We have been having our company picnic here for years at San Dieguito County Park. This is the first time we used Area #5 and there are many dedicated picnic areas available for advance reservations with proximity of playgrounds, restrooms and ample parking space.
Good to know:
Parking is $3 per car for the full day.
Park Rangers were also available easily and very helpful. See map picture.
Playground: Lots of playgrounds on Area 1-4 but no kids playground for areas 5-9.
Lots of seating places with shade and grills installed. See pic of BBQ.
Restrooms: Restrooms are close to each of the Picnic Area 1-5
Picnic area: The picnic area is very beautiful with shades and benches for even up to 100 people. Number # 5 was nice because the restrooms were a few steps away and parking closeby to get all of our food and drinks to the space. Good shade from the trees.
We would do a larger area next time with room for live music.
5 Star park for events, group pictures, hiking and more!
Got a chance to explore the San Dieguito County Park today for a picnic event and everyone liked it. There are many dedicated picnic areas available for advance reservations with proximity of playgrounds, restrooms and ample amount of parking space. Parking is $3 per car for the full day. I must say, this is a very nicely managed park.
Park Rangers were also available easily and very helpful for any kind of information you need.

Love this park! Its a great place to have a family picnic or enjoy a hike! We did both! Beautiful scenery to take pictures as well! Our daughter boho themed 1 year old pictures were taken here and came out beautiful with nature scene backgrounds!
Beautiful Park. Great for family outings and camping. Equipped with grills and picnicking tables. Plenty of shade trees.
San Dieguito County Park is a 125-acre beautiful day-use park bordering the cities of Del Mar, Solana Beach and Rancho Santa Fe, California. The park offers a variety of recreational activities that I enjoyed with my daughter including 5 playgrounds, 10 exercise stations, extensive hiking trails, an ADA trail, a basketball court, a specialized baseball field and an “activity hill” with 2 suspension bridges, 4 hillside ladders and 3 interactive-informative look out stations. In addition to the activities, the scenery is breathtaking. The park has a wedding gazebo, pavilions, large open lawns and picnic areas with BBQ’s, 8 restrooms, drinking fountains and parking.
It is a very beautiful place, if you want to be in contact with nature, but there is also a play space to visit with the little ones in the family.
Me and my family all ways come to this park. It is nice to bring the entire family and play games. We can go hiking. The children love this park a lot.
Adorable park, my friend had her baby shower here. We’re from out of town and this is on our top list to explore next time we’re in the area. Only $3 to park? A big gorgeous grassy field to hang with friends next to some cool walking paths? Stuff for the kids? Yes please!
Absolutely beautiful park with easy hiking trails, lots of playgrounds, shaded areas for picnics
Very nice park with a lot of different things to do, from picnic grounds to playgrounds to short hiking trails.
Such a fun place. Did a little hiking and then took the teens and littles to the parks to play a bit. This is definitely one of our favorite places. The suspension bridge is the best.
Such an amazing park! Things to do for all ages and it's super clean. There's a great basketball court too!
Cool park to take the family on a shirt hike, I think we ended up hiking a little over two miles. Plenty of places to stop along the way. There is a parking fee, however, you can park outside the park for free. Reservations can be made for picnic areas also.
