San Francisco Carousel at Pier 39

This two-story carousel is beautiful and such a pretty fixture in the middle of Pier 39. We bought tickets for our children and they loved the traditional and non-traditional options to ride. Tickets were $7 per person.

Pier 39 proved to be an absolute gem, offering a captivating sight of sea lions and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. The diverse array of eateries served up scrumptious food, and the plethora of games provided endless entertainment. The one-hour cruise from Pier 39 to witness the Golden Gate Bridge was a must-do activity, creating cherished memories with my partner in the magnificent city of San Francisco. Additionally, we ventured on a delightful walking tour through the vibrant streets, courtesy of City Experience. Now, we're eagerly planning a romantic dinner date on a cruise with my husband, looking forward to another unforgettable adventure at Pier 39.

I came here with some friends last week and one of their kids. This was overall a great activity to do on the pier. If you stay at some of the hotels around this area you can get free tickets from the concierge and it was well worth it!

Pier 39 has so many things to see. There is good "tourist" shopping and a lot of choices for things to eat. It is well worth the visit.
Ask any sea lion

There's something for everyone but definitely appear that you can bring the family for a fun-filled day. I enjoyed the fact that I was there on a budget and was still able to purchase and acceptable amount of souvenirs take back home with me for my loved ones.

A variety of different food places, the best of sit down restaurants and fast food eateries. There's a Farmers Market, arcade for little ones, rides for little ones, a plethora of gift shops ranging from toys to souvenirs, high tech gadgets, and jewelry shops. I didn't get to go to the aquarium but for the next visit I definitely have some plans in mind.

And last but not least I enjoyed, and the children enjoyed watching sea lions sunning themselves viewable from the pier. FYI directly across the street, very conveniently located, was a parking garage.

The young guys running the ride were great. We rode with our two young kids, both enjoyed the 4-5 minute ride that cost us $14 (two adult tickets)

Took my 13 yr old granddaughters to the peir for their first time. It was great! Walked down the frontage street along the water and got a great drawing for $20

Who doesn’t love carousels? ! The perfect attraction with the family, colorful and beautiful located in the middle of Pier 39, with plenty of shops and restaurants around and with smells of popcorn, waffles and bakeries - this makes the perfect place to visit a sunny day! Your kids will love it!

This operate was rude and racist. The sign says riders under 42” tall need to be accompanied. My cousin from Taiwan accompanied her son on the carousel- and this man said she needed a ticket (we bought her son a ticket).

She said she’s accompanying her son, and he then rudely made some comment that along the lines of “I told her in English. ”

WHAT kind of racist remark was that? Her English isn’t perfect, but you don’t say that to me.

The carousel at Pier 39 in San Francisco is a fun activity for all ages! The beautifully painted horses and sea creatures are a sight to behold, and the ride itself is smooth and enjoyable.
