Monday night around 9: 05pm the 9th of March was horrible. I left class to find my bike lock beaten to a pulp. So badly, I could no longer reel to the combination to unlock the bike myself. The heartless theft even dented and chipped the paint on my bike. It is such a girly bike I still can not believe that a man would try to take it. I think that I saw the bandit; a man rode by on a bike with a very large knife and looked straight at my bike to see if it was still there. Then he jumped off the curb and circled around. He saw my helmet connected to my purse though so he went to talk to near by friends. I called the police and they asked if I could prove the bike was mine. At first, I answered no but the police could follow me home, I still had the receipt. She replied they did not have a police officer for that and to call a locksmith. Later, I called back because I remembered that a pic of my bike is on my facebook, I also had the key to the included wheel lock. They said they would send someone out; after a lot of back and forth. I ended up waiving down Officer Nick and Officer Roach after 1.5 hours of waiting. They did not have bolt cutters but one radioed Precinct 14 and the Sergeant came out with the biggest bolt cutters I have ever seen (the height of an 11 year old). Thank you so so much I wanted to bring candy or food to the Officers to thank them. But people keep telling me Officers can not take gifts from citizens. I really appreciate it thanks so much!

Thieves broke into my rental car at the Fisherman's Wharf area and police even did not bother to show up. It shouldn't be that hard to have a better security at a touristic place like that. At least they can have CCTV surveillance in the area. How much would it cost in the end? Terrible experience so far and to me the blame goes to the police force and municipality for not doing their job, which includes making thieves life harder than the guests.

One of the cops was an outright jerk! Like seriously! This is not given. It's earned! Here's why: I read on the news that it said a guy (an illegal immigrant) from El Salvador was driving in SF with his girlfriend but had no license, a cop pulls him over, treats him automatically like a criminal, AND calls ICE on him! San Francisco is a sanctuary city! California Sanctuary State Law says cops can't report illegal immigrants to ICE unless it's a felony they've committed. While I do not fully agree with that law (I believe many misdemeanors should also warrant deportation for illegal and legal immigrants), driving without a driver's license is not a felony! It is either an infraction or a misdemeanor, but not deep of a misdemeanor enough for deportation. If that cop gets terminated, loses his badge, and loses his policing license and certification, then I will remove this review. Polices are to keep the community safe, not to bully around!

Thank you SF PD for keeping people safe on the night of October 27th. You came out and did traffic control for us, and I'm very grateful for your cooperation. Thank you for protecting free speech and free assembly and providing professional and courteous service. You are an example for other law enforcement with this.

My hats off to the police force. They were super nice. Very helpful. They deal with a lot of tourists. I can only imagine trying to put up with all those people. Thank you for all you do.

7/10/18 My family has been going too the festival of the chariots in San Francisco for as long as I can remember. We recently had a family talk about this years event. All of us had the same concern safety.
We decided not to go this year due to how dangerous San Francisco has become. This coming from a family that traveled through Nicaragua for two weeks in march says a lot. I think Managua might be safer.we are driving to the Los Angeles festival instead. We will not be going to San Francisco for any reason till it becomes more safe. Which really sucks because I've always liked going there.

Just watched a video on YouTube of a guy called Madrid detaining a citizen illegally on a public sidewalk for absolutely and positively no reason. It really bothered him that no crime had been committed so he detained him illegally anyway. He said he wasn't being detained then he was being detained then no you didn't break the law but I'm still detaining you because I'm investigating something that I deem to be suspicious. He refused to say what law was broken (I'm investigating. Give me I. D.) The public has no obligation to assist you or give I. D.during an "investigation" unless you arrest the individual. Then they can plead the fifth and not talk without an attorney. What is so hard to understand about that. This policeman needs to be sued for illegal detainment and violating the individual rights according to the U. S.constitution. I was so upset that I didn't even finish the video before I came here to vent both my anger and frustration. The Home Of The Free. Don't make me laugh.

San Francisco Police please assist. Last Friday I was showering at the Mulberry UCSF gym. Four men in firefighter uniforms entered, unlocked my stall and pulled me screaming from the disability seat in the shower. One on either side of me held me to the ground while one held and injured both my feet, injected me with an unknown substance while one held my face to the left. The one injecting me, screamed "Surfs Up. "

They then tied me to a flat board? I lost consciousness at that time. I woke up in a room where four more men rushed in and injected me twice more yelling threats of violence at me for no apparent reason. A UCSF security guard was with me who can verify this incident.we were both scared out of our minds.

Please protect me from these maniacs playing the game with my life at risk. For a more detailed account see my post on the UCSF Woman's Health, Sutter Street San Francisco.

I'm starting to wonder why we pay for a police department which refuses to enforce the laws which their tax paying residents, who they are supposed to be serving, request them to. It's getting tiresome.

My son was being threatened with his life and the police were there within 5 minutes. Great job!

I called 311 to report an auto break-in. The officer who took my info was
efficient, soft-spoken and helpful. Five stars for him!

Thank you so much-SFPD! My daughter lives in the Marina and was besieged by homeless people yelling at tourists, threatening her, sleeping in the entry of the building so she couldn't get in, emptying the trash cans all over the sidewalk, and breaking into the back yard and mailbox. The neighborhood police strategy really worked. They met with the neighbors and the SFPD neighborhood police and really cleaned it up. My daughter feels safe again and so do I. Thank you, thank you.

They do not respond to calls from minorities, "we don't help criminals" they told me.

I'm a security guard at an coop in the northern police district. I have no problem with the police officers. 4 stars only because the dispatchers are frustrating to deal with. I have had incidents where the dispatchers were unhelpful. We have started to ask the residents who are politically involved with city government to call in. What ever phone numbers they have access to gets results. Once the actual officers arrive they are great professionals.

No need to go into detail, but SF PD is awesome! Everyone we spoke to during our situation was helpful, took it seriously, called us back promptly, and treated us with kindness and respect! Keep up the great work! We appreciate your service!

So much crime. I never ask for service. SF Police Department are stalkers and criminal. They are not ok. They are trying to kill me with their shotguns and highly dangerous weapon that connected to U. S.military weapons like bombs and missiles including career in medicine.

Completely useless and unhelpful. Quick to give needless parking tickets, but when car is broken into and items stolen, nobody at the station can even pick up the phone. Had to drive to nearest police station, and when I described the event they said to either file a report here or online. Wasn't even concerned with what had happened as "it happens quite often" apparently. Waiting to hear back from them, but not expecting much given the first impression.

I really love the services they do, and the things they will do to increase bonds within the community. I also enjoy the departments ability to maintain a diverse community and also have good conditions for the officers and citizens.
