Great, picturesque place. At cloud level. A gathering place for young people and people who are passionate about auto and motorcycle culture.

The views on a clear day up here are great. It is a pretty tough drive to the top with lots of sharp turns and narrow places on the road. Also you have to be on the lookout for many bicyclists, pedestrians and rocks on the way up/down. The pavement at this lookout is very broken up so use caution driving around the tree.

Beautiful route and very relaxing. Loved it. Great areas for camping. Watch out with Jason because Crystal Lake is here!

Absolutely gorgeous views that make you feel like you're in the Great Smokey Mountain.

It's a great place to hang out. The only I don't like it's the dirty people leaving thrash behind even though there are big dumpsters in every stop site. Crystal Lake is closed by the way. However, the river is nice and full.

A great drive up HWY 39 to the closed Gare ends at the lookout. A wonderful view, and you can continue up the road if you are looking for a hike. A 6 mile hike will get you to HWY 2. The lookout has good parking, but if there is snow on the ground, it can fill up quick. No restroo.s at the lookout, so you will have to use those at the forestry station about 10 miles before the lookout, or head up to the Crystal Lake are to use those.
