San Idli Indian Restaurant, San Diego CA

Really delicious Dosa and curries/chutneys! We had the idli, vada, and uttapam as well, and they were all excellent. Some of the chutneys and the samosas were too spicy for me, but my spice tolerance is pretty low. Overall delicious and really friendly service as well.

Food and service is awesome. Get the South Indian vibe. The atmosphere can be made better.

The dosa and coconut chutney were good. However, the sambar was the red colored, slightly sweet version of the south Indian sambar, as opposed to the yellow and slightly spicier version that I was expecting. It's just my preference for the latter that I removed one star. Didn't try anything else, so can't really say much.

The owner of the restaurant treats customers as their own servants, and the food is okay and expensive for being a vegetarian place. Don’t waste your time and money here. CHARMINAR RESTAURANT is the place to go if you want delicious meals and a fun atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service has gone down hill in the past year. The food arrives cold and during one of the visits they completely forgot to bring out my order. My family will now have to find a new favorite spot in town.

This place is completely veg and they were able to accommodate jain food too. Their chutney is jain, and sambhar has carrot but no onion and garlic. The service was prompt and they were kind enough to take your suggestions too.

Also, never seen a place like this which shows informative videos about sugar intake, foods served at the restaurant with their importance. This place does not serve cold drinks because it contains lots of sugar which is amazing.

We visited vsan idli few days ago on our trip to San Diego.
Amazing south Indian and other Indian food variety.
Good quality food.
They do cater to Jain food restrictions, how ever though they said their sambhar is Jain, but they do include carrots which is a root vegetable Jain don't eat
But they replaced it with extra coconut chutney.
Mr luvkush was very helpful, service with smile.
Food is authentic and well made.

Food is good and staff is nice! We visited this place twice during our visit to San Diego. Staff is caring and polite.

All the food was excellent, and there's plenty of seating and space. Food comes out fast and hot. Service was a little awkward/unfriendly. But we really enjoyed every dish and would return.

The dosa are huge so keep that in mind when ordering! It's enough for two. Everything is also vegetarian

It's okay at best. Food was sometimes ok.the sambar didn't look or taste like sambar and the dishes weren't that great for their price. Coffee was good at least. Just okay

I am visiting San Diego from Toronto and San Idli is by far the best South Indian restaurant in North America. The service was amazing. The servers went above and beyond to make it a memorable experience for me. I ordered via UberEats and the UberEats driver messed up my order so San Idli gave me a complementary Vegetable Biryani. I was so impressed by the service that I went to the restaurant today and they gave me a complimentary Mango Lassi. The ambience is good as well. I 10/10 recommend this restaurant for amazing food, service and atmosphere!

Vegan Indian food restaurant. Very good food and nice service. It became my regular spot for lunch.

I really liked this South Indian restaurant. They offer a diverse range of South Indian cuisine and serve filter coffee as-well. However, it can get very busy, making it challenging to find a parking spot outside.

This is a must try indian restaurant in Sandiego. Excellent food and service. One of the best South Indian food I had in recent years.

This is like a fast food place where you order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. The quality of the food is excellent and service is fast. There is plenty of parking. There is both inside and outside seating.

Worst Indian Restaurant must avoid. I will give zero (0) stars if zero rating is available.
